Our ELISA Kit assays are dynamic research tools and sometimes they may be updated and improved. If the format of this assay is important to you then please request the current manual or contact our technical support team with a presales inquiry before placing an order. We will confirm the current details of the assay. We cannot guarantee the sample manual posted online is the most current manual.
Other Notes
Small volumes of PROCR elisa kit vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

MBS014773 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip plate ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the Protein C Receptor, Endothelial (PROCR) ELISA Kit target analytes in biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range in biological research samples containing PROCR. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS014773 kit is based on PROCR antibody-PROCR antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect PROCR antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, PROCR. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

NCBI Summary for PROCR
The protein encoded by this gene is a receptor for activated protein C, a serine protease activated by and involved in the blood coagulation pathway. The encoded protein is an N-glycosylated type I membrane protein that enhances the activation of protein C. Mutations in this gene have been associated with venous thromboembolism and myocardial infarction, as well as with late fetal loss during pregnancy. The encoded protein may also play a role in malarial infection and has been associated with cancer. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2013]
UniProt Comments for PROCR
EPCR: a single-pass type I membrane protein. Binds activated protein C (APC), a serine protease that regulates thrombin (IIa) production. Plays a pivotal role in preventing blood coagulation through binding of activated protein C. Expressed strongly in the endothelial cells of arteries and veins in heart and lung, less intensely in capillaries in the lung and skin, and not at all in the endothelium of small vessels of the liver and kidney. The binding of APC to EPCR and PAR-1 increases invasion and chemotaxis.

Protein type: Membrane protein, integral; Receptor, misc.

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 20q11.2

Cellular Component: centrosome; cell surface; focal adhesion; integral to plasma membrane; plasma membrane; extracellular region

Molecular Function: protein binding; receptor activity

Biological Process: antigen processing and presentation; immune response; negative regulation of coagulation; blood coagulation; leukocyte migration
