Specificity    Bcr (phospho-Tyr177) antibody detects endogenous levels of Bcr only when phosphorylated at tyrosine 177.
Purity/Purification    Affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity-chromatography using epitope-specific phosphopeptide. The antibody against non-phosphopeptide was removed by chromatography using non-phosphopeptide corresponding to the phosphorylation site.
Form/Format    In phosphate buffered saline (without Mg2+ and Ca2+), pH 7.4, 150mM NaCl, 0.02% sodium azide and 50% glycerol.
Section Bar
Immunogen    The antiserum was produced against synthesized phosphopeptide derived from human Bcr around the phosphorylation site of tyrosine 177 (P-F-YP-V-N).

NCBI Summary for Bcr    A reciprocal translocation between chromosomes 22 and 9 produces the Philadelphia chromosome, which is often found in patients with chronic myelogenous leukemia. The chromosome 22 breakpoint for this translocation is located within the BCR gene. The translocation produces a fusion protein which is encoded by sequence from both BCR and ABL, the gene at the chromosome 9 breakpoint. Although the BCR-ABL fusion protein has been extensively studied, the function of the normal BCR gene product is not clear. The protein has serine/threonine kinase activity and is a GTPase-activating protein for p21rac. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Section Bar
UniProt Comments for Bcr    GTPase-activating protein for RAC1 and CDC42. Promotes the exchange of RAC or CDC42-bound GDP by GTP, thereby activating them. Displays serine/threonine kinase activity.

Research Articles on Bcr    1. This is the first report evaluating the role of SOD2 in native and T351-mutated BCR-ABL-expressing cells and in a large cohort of chronic myeloid leukemia patients. In leukemic cells silenced for SOD2 expression a specific down-regulation of the expression of PRDX2 gene was found.
