Related Product Information for anti-CD2 antibody

Mouse anti Human CD2 antibody, clone LT2 recognizes human CD2, a single chain transmembrane glycoprotein of 50kD, expressed by T cells, NK cells and thymocytes. CD2 is a receptor for CD58 (LFA-3), and is important in mediating the interaction between T cells and target cells or antigen presenting cells. Mouse anti Human CD2 antibody, clone LT2 inhibits NK cell mediated cytotoxicity, and ConA and PHA mediated blast transformation.
 Applications Tested/Suitable for anti-CD2 antibody

Flow cytometry (FC/FACS)

Application Notes for anti-CD2 antibody    Flow Cytometry: Use 10ul of the suggested working dilution to label 106 cells or 100ul of whole blood using the lysed whole blood labelling method.
Flow Cytometry: Maximum Dilution: Neat

NCBI Summary for CD2    CD2 is a surface antigen of the human T-lymphocyte lineage that is expressed on all peripheral blood T cells (summarized by Sewell et al., 1986 [PubMed 3490670]). It is one of the earliest T-cell markers, being present on more than 95% of thymocytes; it is also found on some natural killer cells but not on B lymphocytes. Monoclonal antibodies directed against CD2 inhibit the formation of rosettes with sheep erythrocytes, indicating that CD2 is the erythrocyte receptor or is closely associated with it.[supplied by OMIM, Jul 2010]

UniProt Comments for CD2    CD2: CD2 interacts with lymphocyte function-associated antigen (LFA-3) and CD48/BCM1 to mediate adhesion between T-cells and other cell types. CD2 is implicated in the triggering of T- cells, the cytoplasmic domain is implicated in the signaling function.

Research Articles on CD2    1. Although sMCs displayed immunoreactivity for one of the neoplastic antigens in the majority of SM patients, the aberrant CD2 and/or CD25 expression on sMCs is not as indicative of SM as the BMMC immunophenotype.
