Small volumes of anti-MYST1 antibody vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

The MYST family of histone acetyltransferases, which includes MYST1, is named for the founding members MOZ (MYST3; MIM 601408), yeast YBF2 and SAS2, and TIP60 (HTATIP; MIM 601409). All members of this family contain a MYST region of about 240 amino acids with a canonical acetyl-CoA-binding site and a C2HC-type zinc finger motif. Most MYST proteins also have a chromodomain involved in protein-protein interactions and targeting transcriptional regulators to chromatin (Neal et al., 2000 [PubMed 10786633]).[supplied by OMIM][NCBI Entrez Gene Summary]

NCBI Summary for MYST1
This gene encodes a member of the MYST histone acetylase protein family. The encoded protein has a characteristic MYST domain containing an acetyl-CoA-binding site, a chromodomain typical of proteins which bind histones, and a C2HC-type zinc finger. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Feb 2012]

UniProt Comments for MYST1
MYST1: Histone acetyltransferase which may be involved in transcriptional activation. May influence the function of ATM. As part of the MSL complex it is involved in acetylation of nucleosomal histone H4 producing specifically H4K16ac. As part of the NSL complex it may be involved in acetylation of nucleosomal histone H4 on several lysine residues. That activity is less specific than the one of the MSL complex. Belongs to the MYST (SAS/MOZ) family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.
Protein type: Acetyltransferase; EC 2.3.1.48
Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 16p11.2
Cellular Component: nucleoplasm; kinetochore; nuclear membrane; nucleus; histone acetyltransferase complex
Molecular Function: protein binding; enzyme binding; histone acetyltransferase activity; metal ion binding; acetyltransferase activity; histone acetyltransferase activity (H4-K16 specific); transcription factor binding; methylated histone residue binding
Biological Process: establishment and/or maintenance of chromatin architecture; transcription, DNA-dependent; positive regulation of transcription, DNA-dependent; myeloid cell differentiation; regulation of autophagy; histone acetylation; negative regulation of transcription, DNA-dependent
