Preparation and Storage    May be stored at 4 degree C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, add sterile glycerol (40-50%), aliquot and store at -20 degree C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20 degree C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
Other Notes    Small volumes of anti-ORC6 antibody vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

Related Product Information for anti-ORC6 antibody

The origin recognition complex (ORC) is a highly conserved six subunit protein complex essential for the initiation of the DNA replication in eukaryotic cells. Studies in yeast demonstrated that ORC binds specifically to origins of replication and serves as a platform for the assembly of additional initiation factors such as Cdc6 and Mcm proteins. The protein encoded by this gene is a subunit of the ORC complex. It has been shown that this protein and and ORC1L are loosely associated with the core complex consisting of ORC2L, -3L, -4L and -5L. Gene silencing studies with small interfering RNA demonstrated that this protein plays an essential role in coordinating chromosome replication and segregation with cytokinesis.

UniProt Comments for ORC6    ORC6L: Component of the origin recognition complex (ORC) that binds origins of replication. DNA-binding is ATP-dependent, however specific DNA sequences that define origins of replication have not been identified so far. ORC is required to assemble the pre-replication complex necessary to initiate DNA replication. ORC is composed of six subunits. In human, ORC is cell cycle-dependent regulated: it is sequentially assembled at the exit from anaphase of mitosis and disassembled as cells enter S phase. Interacts with DBF4. Belongs to the ORC6 family.

Protein type: DNA replication

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 16q12

Cellular Component: nucleoplasm; membrane; plasma membrane; nuclear origin of replication recognition complex; nucleus; origin recognition complex

Molecular Function: protein binding; DNA binding

Biological Process: mitotic cell cycle; DNA-dependent DNA replication; DNA replication; G1/S transition of mitotic cell cycle

Disease: Meier-gorlin Syndrome 3

Research Articles on ORC6    1. findings show that Orc6 not only interacts with Orc1-Orc5 but also with the initiation factor Cdc6, and that Orc6 functions at different stages of the replication initiation process.
