Preparation and Storage    Store at 4 degree C or at -20 degree C if preferred. Storage in frost-free freezers is not recommended. This product should be stored undiluted. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody. Should this product contain a precipitate we recommend microcentrifugation before use.
Shelf Life: 18 months from date of despatch.
Other Notes    Small volumes of anti-BGLAP antibody vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.
Searchable Terms for BGLAP purchase    MOUSE ANTI HUMAN OSTEOCALCIN:

This antibody is mouse derived against human osteocalcin (anti osteocalcin antibody or mouse anti osteocalcin)
Osteocalcin (bone gamma-carboxyglutamic acid-containing protein or BGLAP), is a protein found in bone and dentin. It is encoded by the BGLAP gene and its effects are transduced by the GPRC6A receptor. It is often used as biochemical marker for bone formation
Osteoblasts secrete osteocalcin and it plays a role in the body's metabolic regulation such as pro-osteoblast stimulation and bone building. Osteocalcin acts on Leydig cells (via the GPRC6A receptor) of the testis to stimulate testosterone biosynthesis and therefore affect male fertility. Osteocalcin has also been implicated in bone mineralization and calcium ion homeostasis. It acts as a hormone in the body, causing beta cells in the pancreas to release more insulin, and at the same time directing fat cells to release the hormone adiponectin, which causes an increase in the sensitivity to insulin.
Cross species reactivity for this antibody has been demonstrated to mouse, rat and human sequences. Applications of this recombinant protein tool include western blotting, ELISA IHC, protein/ tissue expression, gene expression and a multitude of other research applications.

Related Product Information for anti-BGLAP antibody

Mouse anti Human Osteocalcin antibody, clone 6F9G4E10 recognizes intact human osteocalcin in a 2 site assay and reacts with osteocalcin fragments corresponding to amino acids 1-19, 7-19 and 15-31 of the native molecule. It does not recognize fragments representing amino acids 20-42 or intact bovine osteocalcin.Osteocalcin (Bone Gla Protein) is a 49 amino acid single chain vitamin K dependent protein (MW 5.8 kDa), made by osteoblasts that is a major component of the non-collagenous bone matrix. Serum osteocalcin is elevated in diseases characterized by increased bone turnover such as osteoporosis, hyperparathyroidism and Paget's disease, and low in conditions associated with low bone turnover such as hypoparathyroidism and growth hormone deficiency.

NCBI Summary for BGLAP    This gene encodes a highly abundant bone protein secreted by osteoblasts that regulates bone remodeling and energy metabolism. The encoded protein contains a Gla (gamma carboxyglutamate) domain, which functions in binding to calcium and hydroxyapatite, the mineral component of bone. Serum osteocalcin levels may be negatively correlated with metabolic syndrome. Read-through transcription exists between this gene and the neighboring upstream gene, PMF1 (polyamine-modulated factor 1), but the encoded protein only shows sequence identity with the upstream gene product. [provided by RefSeq, Jun 2015]
