Product Description specifically for anti-TLR7 antibody

TLR7 is one of toll-like receptors which are type I transmembrane proteins involved in innate immunity by recognizing microbial conserved structures. These proteins are characterized by multiple copies of leucine rich repeats in the extracellular domain and IL-1 receptor motif in the cytoplasmic domain, and act through adaptor molecules such as MyD88 and TIRAP to activate various kinases and transcription factors. Human TLR7(hTLR7) is predominantly expressed in lung, placenta and spleen and hTLR7,8 genes are located on the sex chromosome X. hTLR7 may play an important role in detecting and combating viral infections.

 Applications Tested/Suitable for anti-TLR7 antibody

ELISA (EIA), Western Blot (WB) (Cell lysate)

Application Notes for anti-TLR7 antibody    The antibody has been tested by ELISA and Western blot analysis to assure specificity and reactivity. Since application varies, however, each investigation should be titrated by the reagent to obtain optimal results. Recommended dilution range for Western blot analysis is 1:500 ~ 2,000. Recommended starting dilution is 1:1,000.

Western Blot (WB) of anti-TLR7 antibody    The Ramos cell lysates (80ug) were resolved by SDS-PAGE, transferred to PVDF membrane and probed with anti-human TLR7 antibody (1:1000). Proteins were visualized using a goat anti-mouse secondary antibody conjugated to HRP and an ECL detection system. Arrow indicates TLR7 protein in human Ramos cells.

NCBI Summary for TLR7    The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the Toll-like receptor (TLR) family which plays a fundamental role in pathogen recognition and activation of innate immunity. TLRs are highly conserved from Drosophila to humans and share structural and functional similarities. They recognize pathogen-associated molecular patterns (PAMPs) that are expressed on infectious agents, and mediate the production of cytokines necessary for the development of effective immunity. The various TLRs exhibit different patterns of expression. This gene is predominantly expressed in lung, placenta, and spleen, and lies in close proximity to another family member, TLR8, on chromosome X. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

UniProt Comments for TLR7    TLR7: Key component of innate and adaptive immunity. TLRs (Toll-like receptors) control host immune response against pathogens through recognition of molecular patterns specific to microorganisms. TLR7 is a nucleotide-sensing TLR which is activated by single-stranded RNA. Acts via MYD88 and TRAF6, leading to NF-kappa-B activation, cytokine secretion and the inflammatory response. Interacts with MYD88 via their respective TIR domains. Interacts with UNC93B1. Detected in brain, placenta, spleen, stomach, small intestine, lung and in plasmacytoid pre-dendritic cells. Belongs to the Toll-like receptor family.
