Related Product Information for anti-CFTR antibody

Description: Rabbit IgG polyclonal antibody for Cystic fibrosis transmembrane conductance regulator(CFTR) detection. Tested with WB, IHC-P in Human, Mouse, Rat.
Background: Cystic fibrosis transmembrane conductance regulator(CFTR), also called ABC35 or ABCC7, is a protein that in humans is encoded by the CFTR gene. This gene is mapped to 7q31.2. This gene encodes a member of the ATP-binding cassette(ABC) transporter superfamily. ABC proteins transport various molecules across extra- and intra-cellular membranes. ABC genes are divided into seven distinct subfamilies(ABC1, MDR/TAP, MRP, ALD, OABP, GCN20, White). This protein is a member of the MRP subfamily that is involved in multi-drug resistance. The encoded protein functions as a chloride channel and controls the regulation of other transport pathways. Mutations in this gene are associated with the autosomal recessive disorders cystic fibrosis and congenital bilateral aplasia of the vas deferens.
 Applications Tested/Suitable for anti-CFTR antibody

Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC) Paraffin

Application Notes for anti-CFTR antibody    Western Blot:
Concentration: 0.1-0.5ug/ml
Tested Species: Rat
Predicted Species: Hu, Ms

Immunohistochemistry (Paraffin-embedded Section):
Concentration: 0.5-1ug/ml
Tested Species: Hu, Rat
Predicted Species: Ms
Antigen Retrieval: By Heat.

Tested Species: In-house tested species with positive results.
Predicted Species: Species predicted to be fit for the product based on sequence similarities.
By Heat: Boiling the paraffin sections in 10mM citrate buffer, pH6.0, for 20 mins is required for the staining of formalin/paraffin sections.
Other applications have not been tested.
Optimal dilutions should be determined by end users.

NCBI Summary for CFTR    This gene encodes a member of the ATP-binding cassette (ABC) transporter superfamily. ABC proteins transport various molecules across extra- and intra-cellular membranes. ABC genes are divided into seven distinct subfamilies (ABC1, MDR/TAP, MRP, ALD, OABP, GCN20, White). Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been described, many of which result from mutations in this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

UniProt Comments for CFTR    CFTR: a member of the MRP subfamily of ATP-binding cassette (ABC) transporters. ABC proteins transport various molecules across extra- and intra-cellular membranes. Functions as a chloride channel and controls the regulation of other transport pathways. Mutations have been observed in patients with the autosomal recessive disorders cystic fibrosis (CF) and congenital bilateral aplasia of the vas deferens (CBAVD). Alternative splice
