Application Notes for anti-DDAH1 antibody
Peptide ELISA: Antibody detection limit dilution 1: 2000. Western Blot: Approx 35kDa band observed in Human Kidney lysates (calculated MW of 31.1kDa according to NP_036269.1). The observed molecular weight corresponds to earlier findings in literature with different antibodies (Pullamsetti et al, FASEB J.2005 Jul;19(9): 1175-7; PMID: 15827267). Recommended concentration: 0. 03-0.1ug/ml.

Western Blot (WB) of anti-DDAH1 antibody
(0. 03ug/ml) staining of Human Kidney lysate (35ug protein in RIPA buffer). Primary incubation was 1 hour. Detected by chemiluminescence.

NCBI Summary for DDAH1
This gene belongs to the dimethylarginine dimethylaminohydrolase (DDAH) gene family. The encoded enzyme plays a role in nitric oxide generation by regulating cellular concentrations of methylarginines, which in turn inhibit nitric oxide synthase activity. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

UniProt Comments for DDAH1
DDAH1: Hydrolyzes N(G),N(G)-dimethyl-L-arginine (ADMA) and N(G)-monomethyl-L-arginine (MMA) which act as inhibitors of NOS. Has therefore a role in the regulation of nitric oxide generation. Belongs to the DDAH family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.
Protein type: EC 3.5.3.18; Hydrolase
Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 1p22
Cellular Component: cytosol; mitochondrion
Molecular Function: amino acid binding; catalytic activity; dimethylargininase activity; metal ion binding
Biological Process: arginine catabolic process; citrulline metabolic process; nitric oxide mediated signal transduction; positive regulation of angiogenesis; positive regulation of nitric oxide biosynthetic process; regulation of nitric-oxide synthase activity; regulation of systemic arterial blood pressure
