Related Product Information for anti-GADD34 antibody

Goat anti Human GADD34 antibody recognizes the protein GADD34 (growth arrest and DNA-damage-inducible 34), also known as PPP1R15A. GADD34 is a member of a group of genes whose transcript levels are increased in response to treatment with DNA damaging agents or conditions of stress (Amundson et al. 1998). Induction of GADD34 by ionising radiation has been reported in some cell lines, regardless of p53 status (Hollander et al. 1997). Reports suggest that GADD34 may be involved in a signal transduction pathway controlling cell cycle arrest and/or apoptosis following DNA damage (Hollander et al. 2003). Goat anti human GADD34 antibody has been used successfully for following GADD34 protein turnover in multiple cell lines and primary cells by Western blotting (Zhou et al. 2013)

NCBI Summary for GADD34    This gene is a member of a group of genes whose transcript levels are increased following stressful growth arrest conditions and treatment with DNA-damaging agents. The induction of this gene by ionizing radiation occurs in certain cell lines regardless of p53 status, and its protein response is correlated with apoptosis following ionizing radiation. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

UniProt Comments for GADD34    GADD34: Recruits the serine/threonine-protein phosphatase PP1 to dephosphorylate the translation initiation factor eIF-2A/EIF2S1, thereby reversing the shut-off of protein synthesis initiated by stress-inducible kinases and facilitating recovery of cells from stress. Down-regulates the TGF-beta signaling pathway by promoting dephosphorylation of TGFB1 by PP1. May promote apoptosis by inducing TP53 phosphorylation on 'Ser-15'. Belongs to the PPP1R15 family.
