 Applications Tested/Suitable for anti-GPM6A antibody

Peptide ELISA (EIA), Western Blot (WB)

Application Notes for anti-GPM6A antibody    Peptide ELISA: Antibody detection limit dilution 1: 32000.
Western Blot: Approx 33kDa band observed in Human Brain (Cerebellum) and Rat Brain lysates. An approx.75kDa band was also observed in Human Cerebellum, Olfactory Bulb and in fetal Mouse and Rat Brain lysates (calculated MW of 31.2kDa according to Human NP_005268.1 and Rat NP_835206.1, and 31.1kDa according to Mouse NP_705809.1). The observed 75kDa band corresponds to the glycosylated form. Recommended concentration: 0.5-2ug/ml.
Note: This product has been demonstrated not suitable in IF.

UniProt Comments for GPM6A    GPM6A: Involved in neuronal differentiation, including differentiation and migration of neuronal stem cells. Plays a role in neuronal plasticity and is involved in neurite and filopodia outgrowth, filopodia motility and probably synapse formation. GPM6A-induced filopodia formation involves mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) and Src signaling pathways. May be involved in neuronal NGF-dependent Ca(2+) influx. May be involved in regulation of endocytosis and intracellular trafficking of G- protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs); enhances internalization and recycling of mu-type opioid receptor. Belongs to the myelin proteolipid protein family.

Protein type: Membrane protein, multi-pass; Channel, calcium; Cell surface; Membrane protein, integral

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 4q34

Cellular Component: cell soma; dendritic spine; filopodium; integral to membrane; neuron projection; plasma membrane

Molecular Function: calcium channel activity; protein binding

Biological Process: neurite morphogenesis; neuron migration; positive regulation of filopodium formation; stem cell differentiation; synaptogenesis
