Product Description specifically for anti-HTR7 antibody

5-HT7 Receptor (HTR7)is a serotonin receptor with several functions, including regulation of the circadian rhythm and mediation of smooth-muscle relaxation in the vasculature and GI tract. HTR7 has been implicated in depression, autistic, and other neuropsychiatric disorders. Three protein isoforms have been documented: isoform a: 445aa; isoform b: 432aa; isoform d: 479aa.

NCBI Summary for HTR7    The neurotransmitter, serotonin, is thought to play a role in various cognitive and behavioral functions. The serotonin receptor encoded by this gene belongs to the superfamily of G protein-coupled receptors and the gene is a candidate locus for involvement in autistic disorder and other neuropsychiatric disorders. Three splice variants have been identified which encode proteins that differ in the length of their carboxy terminal ends. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

UniProt Comments for HTR7    5-HT(7): This is one of the several different receptors for 5- hydroxytryptamine (serotonin), a biogenic hormone that functions as a neurotransmitter, a hormone, and a mitogen. The activity of this receptor is mediated by G proteins that stimulate adenylate cyclase. Belongs to the G-protein coupled receptor 1 family. 3 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: GPCR, family 1; Membrane protein, integral; Receptor, GPCR; Membrane protein, multi-pass

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 10q21-q24

Cellular Component: integral to plasma membrane; plasma membrane
