Related Product Information for anti-KC antibody

Background: KC, a homolog of human and hamster gro/MGSA, is a 72-amino acid CXC chemokine originally cloned from rat macrophages and lung tissue. It is the mediator for recruitment and activation of neutrophils in rat lung inflammation models. Expression of KC can be upregulated by LPS and IL-1-gamma stimulation. IFN-g blocks LPS-induced expression of KC.
 Applications Tested/Suitable for anti-KC antibody

Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC)

Application Notes for anti-KC antibody    Western blotting (0.5-4 ug/ml) and Immunohistochemistry (5 ug/ml). However, the optimal concentrations should be determined individually. Blocking peptide is available separately.

NCBI Summary for KC    This gene encodes a protein that is a member of the CXC subfamily of chemokines. Chemokines, which recruit and activate leukocytes, are classified by function (inflammatory or homeostatic) or by structure. This secretory protein is proposed to bind the G-protein coupled receptor chemokine (C-X-C motif) receptor 2 to recruit neutrophils. In mouse, deficiency of this gene is associated with colitis and with defects in immune cell recruitment to the lung. [provided by RefSeq, Apr 2013]

UniProt Comments for KC    CXCL2: Produced by activated monocytes and neutrophils and expressed at sites of inflammation. Hematoregulatory chemokine, which, in vitro, suppresses hematopoietic progenitor cell proliferation. GRO-beta(5-73) shows a highly enhanced hematopoietic activity. Belongs to the intercrine alpha (chemokine CxC) family.
