Preparation and Storage    Store at 4 degree C or at -20 degree C if preferred. Storage in frost-free freezers is not recommended. This product should be stored undiluted. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody. Should this product contain a precipitate we recommend microcentrifugation before use.
Shelf Life: 18 months from date of despatch.
Other Notes    Small volumes of anti-TAAR1 antibody vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

Related Product Information for anti-TAAR1 antibody

Rabbit anti Human TAAR1 antibody recognizes an epitope within Trace amine associated receptor 1 (TAAR1), a G protein-coupled receptor activated by trace amines; endogenous amine compounds present in the mammalian nervous system in trace amounts. TAAR1 may also be activated by metabolites of biogenic amine neurotransmitters including amphetamine-related psychostimulants. TAAR1 is a potentially important target for methamphetamine addiction.

NCBI Summary for TAAR1    TAAR1 is a G protein-coupled receptor activated by trace amines. Trace amines are endogenous amine compounds that account for less than 1% of the biogenic amines in most brain regions (Bunzow et al., 2001 [PubMed 11723224]).[supplied by OMIM, Mar 2008]
Section Bar
UniProt Comments for TAAR1    TAAR1: Receptor for trace amines, including beta- phenylethylamine (b-PEA), p-tyramine (p-TYR), octopamine and tryptamine, with highest affinity for b-PEA and p-TYR. Unresponsive to classical biogenic amines, such as epinephrine and histamine and only partially activated by dopamine and serotonine. Trace amines are biogenic amines present in very low levels in mammalian tissues. Although some trace amines have clearly defined roles as neurotransmitters in invertebrates, the extent to which they function as true neurotransmitters in vertebrates has remained speculative. Trace amines are likely to be involved in a variety of physiological functions that have yet to be fully understood. The signal transduced by this receptor is mediated by the G(s)-class of G-proteins which activate adenylate cyclase. Belongs to the G-protein coupled receptor 1 family.

Protein type: Receptor, GPCR; Membrane protein, multi-pass; GPCR, family 1; Membrane protein, integral

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 6q23.2

Cellular Component: integral to membrane; plasma membrane

Molecular Function: G-protein coupled receptor activity; trace-amine receptor activity

Biological Process: G-protein coupled receptor protein signaling pathway

Research Articles on TAAR1    1. an increase in TAAR1 receptor expression is concomitant with lymphocyte immune activation, suggesting a possible role for TAAR1 in the generation or regulation of an immune response
