Section Bar
 Purity/Purification    >95% by SDS-PAGE
 Form/Format    Purified
Inactivated toxoid derived from purified Clostridium difficile Toxin B - lyophilised
Concentration    Approximate Protein Concentration: 0.2mg/ml after reconstitution (lot specific)
Section Bar
Reconstitution    Reconstitute with 250 ul distilled water. Care should be taken during reconstitution as the protein may appear as a film at the bottom of the vial. MyBioSource recommends that the vial is gently mixed after reconstitution
Preparation    Inactivated using formaldehyde. No cell rounding in the sensitive verocytotoxicity assay at 2ug/ml compared to active toxin lethal dose of 4pg/ml.
Buffer Solution    0.05M HEPES, 0.15M NaCl, 5% Sucrose
 Target Species    Bacterial
Section Bar
Preparation and Storage    Prior to reconstitution store at 4C.
After reconstitution store at 4C or at -20C for long-term storage.
Storage in frost-free freezers is not recommended. This product should be stored undiluted.
Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody.

Shelf Life: 1 month from date of reconstitution if stored at 4 degree C.
Other Notes    Small volumes of CLOSTRIDIUM DIFFICILE TOXOID B antigen vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

Related Product Information for CLOSTRIDIUM DIFFICILE TOXOID B antigen

Clostridium difficile is a Gram-positive bacteria naturally present in the gut of some children and very few adults. Occasionally, the use of antibiotics to treat other infections may lead to C. difficile infection and severe diarrhoea and fever. Symptoms are caused by toxin A (an enterotoxin) and toxin B (a cytotoxin). MBS239267 is a highly purified, non toxic preparation derived from Clostridium difficile Toxin B. Antigenicity of this preparation is maintained to be no less than 90% of original toxin strength as measured by direct ELISA. For a preparation of Toxoid A, see MBS239268.
