Product Note
Our ELISA Kit assays are dynamic research tools and sometimes they may be updated and improved. If the format of this assay is important to you then please request the current manual or contact our technical support team with a presales inquiry before placing an order. We will confirm the current details of the assay. We cannot guarantee the sample manual posted online is the most current manual.

Other Notes
Small volumes of GT elisa kit vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

MBS012549 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip plate Sandwich ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the Gastrin (GT) ELISA Kit target analytes in biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range in biological research samples containing GT. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS012549 kit is based on GT antibody-GT antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect GT antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, GT. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

NCBI Summary for GT
Gastrin is a hormone whose main function is to stimulate secretion of hydrochloric acid by the gastric mucosa, which results in gastrin formation inhibition. This hormone also acts as a mitogenic factor for gastrointestinal epithelial cells. Gastrin has two biologically active peptide forms, G34 and G17. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

UniProt Comments for GT
gastrin: Gastrin stimulates the stomach mucosa to produce and secrete hydrochloric acid and the pancreas to secrete its digestive enzymes. It also stimulates smooth muscle contraction and increases blood circulation and water secretion in the stomach and intestine. Belongs to the gastrin/cholecystokinin family.
Protein type: Secreted, signal peptide; Secreted
Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 17q21
Cellular Component: extracellular region
Molecular Function: protein binding; hormone activity
Biological Process: G-protein coupled receptor protein signaling pathway; signal transduction
