Other Notes    Small volumes of CCK8 elisa kit vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.
Searchable Terms for CCK8 purchase    MBS088674 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip-or-full plate ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the Cholecystokinin 8, Octapeptide (CCK8) ELISA Kit target analytes in biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range in biological research samples containing CCK8. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS088674 kit is based on CCK8 antibody-CCK8 antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect CCK8 antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, CCK8. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

NCBI Summary for CCK8    brain-gut peptide with hemacrine and autocrine function in the gut [RGD, Feb 2006]
Section Bar
UniProt Comments for CCK8    Function: This peptide hormone induces gall bladder contraction and the release of pancreatic enzymes in the gut. Its function in the brain is not clear. Binding to CCK-A receptors stimulates amylase release from the pancreas, binding to CCK-B receptors stimulates gastric acid secretion.

Subunit structure: Binds to CCK-A receptors in the pancreas and CCK-B receptors in the brain

By similarity.

Subcellular location: Secreted.

Tissue specificity: The shortest form (CCK8) is predominantly found in the brain, whereas the larger ones are found in the intestine.

Post-translational modification: The precursor is cleaved by proteases to produce a number of active cholecystokinins.Sulfation of Tyr-97 is essential for receptor activation.

Sequence similarities: Belongs to the gastrin/cholecystokinin family.
