UniProt Comments for SRC
Src: proto-oncogenic cytoplasmic tyrosine kinase of the SRC family. Highly expressed in certain fully differentiated cells such as neurons, platelets and macrophages. Phosphorylation of an activation loop tyrosine activates the enzyme; phosphorylation of a tyrosine in the C-terminus by Csk inhibits the enzyme. Two alternatively spliced isoforms have been described.
Protein type: Kinase, protein; Oncoprotein; EC 2.7.10.2; Protein kinase, tyrosine (non-receptor); Protein kinase, TK; TK group; Src family
Cellular Component: extrinsic to internal side of plasma membrane; perinuclear region of cytoplasm; lysosome; mitochondrial inner membrane; late endosome; endosome membrane; actin filament; caveola; cytosol; nucleus
Molecular Function: protein binding; ephrin receptor binding; heme binding; non-membrane spanning protein tyrosine kinase activity; phosphoprotein binding; SH2 domain binding; protein phosphatase binding; ATP binding; hormone receptor binding
Biological Process: integrin-mediated signaling pathway; oogenesis; epidermal growth factor receptor signaling pathway; regulation of estrogen receptor signaling pathway; cell migration; progesterone receptor signaling pathway; estrogen receptor signaling pathway; central nervous system development; regulation of cell cycle; platelet-derived growth factor receptor signaling pathway; negative regulation of caspase activity; cell cycle; uterus development; negative regulation of mitochondrial depolarization; regulation of cell proliferation; negative regulation of protein homooligomerization; positive regulation of protein kinase B signaling cascade; regulation of cell-cell adhesion; regulation of protein binding; transforming growth factor beta receptor signaling pathway; forebrain development; stress fiber formation; innate immune response; cell adhesion; bone resorption
