Product Note    Our ELISA Kit assays are dynamic research tools and sometimes they may be updated and improved. If the format of this assay is important to you then please request the current manual or contact our technical support team with a presales inquiry before placing an order. We will confirm the current details of the assay. We cannot guarantee the sample manual posted online is the most current manual.
Other Notes    Small volumes of FAH elisa kit vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.
Searchable Terms for FAH purchase    MBS9350554 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip plate ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the Fumarylacetoacetase (FAH) ELISA Kit target analytes in biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range in biological research samples containing FAH. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS9350554 kit is based on FAH antibody-FAH antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect FAH antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, FAH. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

NCBI Summary for FAH    This gene encodes the last enzyme in the tyrosine catabolism pathway. FAH deficiency is associated with Type 1 hereditary tyrosinemia (HT). [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Section Bar
UniProt Comments for FAH    FAH: Defects in FAH are the cause of tyrosinemia type 1 (TYRO1). An inborn error of metabolism characterized by elevations of tyrosine in the blood and urine, and hepatorenal manifestations. Typical features include hepatic necrosis, renal tubular injury, episodic weakness, self-mutilation, and seizures. Renal tubular dysfunction is associated with phosphate loss and hypophosphataemic rickets. Progressive liver disease can lead to the development of hepatocellular carcinoma. Dietary treatment with restriction of tyrosine and phenylalanine alleviates the rickets, but liver transplantation has so far been the only definite treatment. Belongs to the FAH family.

Protein type: Amino Acid Metabolism - tyrosine; EC 3.7.1.2; Hydrolase

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 15q25.1

Cellular Component: cytosol

Molecular Function: fumarylacetoacetase activity; metal ion binding; protein binding

Biological Process: arginine catabolic process; L-phenylalanine catabolic process; tyrosine catabolic process

Disease: Tyrosinemia, Type I
