Product Note    Our ELISA Kit assays are dynamic research tools and sometimes they may be updated and improved. If the format of this assay is important to you then please request the current manual or contact our technical support team with a presales inquiry before placing an order. We will confirm the current details of the assay. We cannot guarantee the sample manual posted online is the most current manual.
Other Notes    Small volumes of FFA elisa kit vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.
Searchable Terms for FFA purchase    MBS035349 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip plate Quantitative Sandwich ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the Free Fatty Acid (FFA) ELISA Kit target analytes in biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range of 31.2 umol/L - 1000 umol/L in biological research samples containing FFA, with an estimated sensitivity of 5.0 umol/L. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS035349 kit is based on FFA antibody-FFA antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect FFA antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, FFA. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions such as undiluted original Fish body fluids, tissue homogenates, secretions or feces samples. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

Related Product Information for FFA elisa kit

Background: This Quantitative Sandwich ELISA kit is only for in vitro research use only, not for drug, household, therapeutic or diagnostic applications! This kit is intended to be used for determination the level of FFA (hereafter termed "analyte") in undiluted original Fish body fluids, tissue homogenates, secretions or feces samples. This kit is NOT suitable for assaying non-biological sources of substances.

NCBI Summary for FFA    This gene encodes a member of the GP40 family of G protein-coupled receptors that are clustered together on chromosome 19. The encoded protein is a receptor for short chain free fatty acids and may be involved in the inflammatory response and in regulating lipid plasma levels. [provided by RefSeq, Apr 2009]
Section Bar
UniProt Comments for FFA    FFAR2: Receptor for short chain fatty acids through a G(i)- protein-mediated inhibition of adenylyl cyclase and elevation of intracellular calcium. The rank order of potency for agonists of this receptor is acetate= propionate = butyrate > pentanoate = formate. Belongs to the G-protein coupled receptor 1 family.

Protein type: Receptor, GPCR; Membrane protein, integral; Membrane protein, multi-pass; GPCR, family 1

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 19q13.1

Cellular Component: cell projection; integral to plasma membrane; plasma membrane

Molecular Function: G-protein coupled receptor activity; protein binding; lipid binding

Biological Process: fat cell differentiation; G-protein coupled receptor protein signaling pathway; sequestering of lipid; mucosal immune response; regulation of acute inflammatory response; cell surface pattern recognition receptor signaling pathway; positive regulation of cytokine production during immune response; positive regulation of acute inflammatory response to non-antigenic stimulus; glucose homeostasis; leukocyte chemotaxis during inflammatory response; positive regulation of chemokine production
