Searchable Terms for DHVD3 purchase    MBS456682 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip plate Quantitative Competitive ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the 1,25-Dihydroxyvitamin D3 (DHVD3) ELISA Kit target analytes in biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range of 15.625-1000pg/mL in biological research samples containing DHVD3, with an estimated sensitivity of <4.1pg/mL. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS456682 kit is based on DHVD3 antibody-DHVD3 antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect DHVD3 antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, DHVD3. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions such as Serum, plasma or other biological fluids. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

Related Product Information for DHVD3 elisa kit

Intended Uses: The kit is a competitive inhibition enzyme immunoassay technique for the in vitro quantitative measurement of DHVD3 in serum, plasma or other biological fluids.

Principle of the Assay: This assay employs the competitive inhibition enzyme immunoassay technique. A monoclonal antibody specific to DHVD3 has been pre-coated onto a microplate. A competitive inhibition reaction is launched between biotin labeled DHVD3 and unlabeled DHVD3 (Standards or samples) with the pre-coated antibody specific to DHVD3. After incubation the unbound conjugate is washed off. Next, Avidin conjugated to Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to each microplate well and incubated. The amount of bound HRP conjugate is reverse proportional to the concentration of DHVD3 in the sample. After addition of the substrate solution, the intensity of color developed is reverse proportional to the concentration of DHVD3 in the sample.

NCBI Summary for DHVD3    This gene encodes a member of the cytochrome P450 superfamily of enzymes. The cytochrome P450 proteins are monooxygenases which catalyze many reactions involved in drug metabolism and synthesis of cholesterol, steroids and other lipids. This mitochondrial protein initiates the degradation of 1,25-dihydroxyvitamin D3, the physiologically active form of vitamin D3, by hydroxylation of the side chain. In regulating the level of vitamin D3, this enzyme plays a role in calcium homeostasis and the vitamin D endocrine system. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

UniProt Comments for DHVD3    CYP24A1: Has a role in maintaining calcium homeostasis. Catalyzes the NADPH-dependent 24-hydroxylation of calcidiol (25- hydroxyvitamin D(3)) and calcitriol (1-alpha,25-dihydroxyvitamin D(3)). The enzyme can perform up to 6 rounds of hydroxylation of calcitriol leading to calcitroic acid. It also shows 23- hydroxylating activity leading to 1-alpha,25-dihydroxyvitamin D(3)-26,23-lactone as end product. Defects in CYP24A1 are the cause of hypercalcemia infantile (HCAI). HCAI is a disorder characterized by abnormally high level of calcium in the blood, failure to thrive, vomiting, dehydration, and nephrocalcinosis. Belongs to the cytochrome P450 family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.
