Product Note    Our ELISA assays are dynamic research tools and sometimes they may be updated and improved. If the format of this assay is important to you then please request the current manual or contact our technical support team with a presales inquiry before placing an order. We will confirm the current details of the assay. We cannot guarantee the sample manual posted online is the most current manual.
Other Notes    Small volumes of GH elisa kit vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.
Searchable Terms for GH purchase    MBS011850 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip plate Sandwich ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the Growth Hormone Antibody (GH) ELISA Kit target analytes in biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range in biological research samples containing GH. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS011850 kit is based on GH antibody-GH antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect GH antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, GH. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

UniProt Comments for GH    Function: Receptor for pituitary gland growth hormone involved in regulating postnatal body growth. On ligand binding, couples to, and activates the JAK2/STAT5 pathway. The soluble form (GHBP) acts as a reservoir of growth hormone in plasma and may be a modulator/inhibitor of GH signaling.

Subunit structure: On growth hormone (GH) binding, forms homodimers and binds JAK2 via a box 1-containing domain

By similarity. Binding to SOCS3 inhibits JAK2 activation, binding to CIS and SOCS2 inhibits STAT5 activation

By similarity.

Subcellular location: Cell membrane; Single-pass type I membrane protein

By similarity. Note: On growth hormone binding, GHR is ubiquitinated, internalized, down-regulated and transported into a degradative or non-degradative pathway

By similarity.Growth hormone-binding protein: Secreted

By similarity. Note: Complexed to a substantial fraction of circulating GH

By similarity.

Domain: The WSXWS motif appears to be necessary for proper protein folding and thereby efficient intracellular transport and cell-surface receptor binding. The box 1 motif is required for JAK interaction and/or activation. The extracellular domain is the ligand-binding domain representing the growth hormone-binding protein (GHBP).The ubiquitination-dependent endocytosis motif (UbE) is required for recruitment of the ubiquitin conjugation system on to the receptor and for its internalization

By similarity.

Post-translational modification: On GH binding, phosphorylated on tyrosine residues in the cytoplasmic domain by JAK2

By similarity. Ref.2On ligand binding, ubiquitinated on lysine residues in the cytoplasmic domain. This ubiquitination is not sufficient for GHR internalization

By similarity.

Sequence similarities: Belongs to the type I cytokine receptor family. Type 1 subfamily.Contains 1 fibronectin type-III domain.
