Product Note    Our ELISA Kit assays are dynamic research tools and sometimes they may be updated and improved. If the format of this assay is important to you then please request the current manual or contact our technical support team with a presales inquiry before placing an order. We will confirm the current details of the assay. We cannot guarantee the sample manual posted online is the most current manual.
Other Notes    Small volumes of PTHRP elisa kit vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.
Searchable Terms for PTHRP purchase    MBS026170 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip-or-full plate ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the Parathyroid Hormone Related Protein (PTHRP) ELISA Kit target analytes in biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range in biological research samples containing PTHRP. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS026170 kit is based on PTHRP antibody-PTHRP antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect PTHRP antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, PTHRP. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

NCBI Summary for PTHRP    This gene encodes a member of the parathyroid family of hormones that possesses distinct paracrine and intracrine signaling roles such as regulation of circulating calcium, transplacental calcium transport, osteoclast inhibition, renal bicarbonate excretion and regulation of apoptosis. The encoded protein undergoes proteolytic processing to generate multiple active peptides with distinct signaling functions. The homozygous deletion of this gene leads to death shortly after birth with a chondrodystrophic phenotype characterized by premature chondrocyte differentiation and accelerated bone formation.  UniProt Comments for PTHRP    PTHrP: a member of the parathyroid hormone family. This hormone regulates endochondral bone development and epithelial-mesenchymal interactions during the formation of the mammary glands and teeth. This hormone is involved in lactation possibly by regulating the mobilization and transfer of calcium to the milk. The receptor of this hormone, PTHR1, is responsible for most cases of humoral hypercalcemia of malignancy. Three alternatively spliced isoforms have been described.

Protein type: Secreted, signal peptide; Secreted

Cellular Component: cytoplasm; extracellular space; Golgi apparatus; intracellular; nucleoplasm
