If the format of this assay is important to you then please contact our technical support team with a presales inquiry before placing an order. We will confirm the current details of the assay.
Other Notes    Small volumes of DPYD elisa kit vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.
Searchable Terms for DPYD purchase    MBS039570 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip plate Sandwich ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the Dihydropyrimidine Dehydrogenase (DPYD) ELISA Kit target analytes in biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range in biological research samples containing DPYD. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS039570 kit is based on DPYD antibody-DPYD antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect DPYD antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, DPYD. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

NCBI Summary for DPYD    The protein encoded by this gene is a pyrimidine catabolic enzyme and the initial and rate-limiting factor in the pathway of uracil and thymidine catabolism. Mutations in this gene result in dihydropyrimidine dehydrogenase deficiency, an error in pyrimidine metabolism associated with thymine-uraciluria and an increased risk of toxicity in cancer patients receiving 5-fluorouracil chemotherapy. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, May 2009]
Section Bar
UniProt Comments for DPYD    DPYD: Involved in pyrimidine base degradation. Catalyzes the reduction of uracil and thymine. Also involved the degradation of the chemotherapeutic drug 5-fluorouracil. Homodimer. Found in most tissues with greatest activity found in liver and peripheral blood mononuclear cells. Belongs to the dihydropyrimidine dehydrogenase family.

Protein type: EC 1.3.1.2; Other Amino Acids Metabolism - beta-alanine; Nucleotide Metabolism - pyrimidine; Cofactor and Vitamin Metabolism - pantothenate and CoA biosynthesis; Xenobiotic Metabolism - drug metabolism - other enzymes; Oxidoreductase

Research Articles on DPYD    1. Data suggest that upregulation of dihydropyrimidine dehydrogenase (DPD) in liver may be involved in acquired resistance to 5-fluorouracil (5-FU), and DPD inhibitors or increasing 5-FU dosage may overcome 5-FU acquired resistance.
