Searchable Terms for HTR3A purchase    MBS9319154 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip plate Quantitative Sandwich ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the 5-hydroxytryptamine (serotonin) receptor 3A (HTR3A) ELISA Kit target analytes in biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range of 6.25ng/ml-200ng/mL in biological research samples containing HTR3A, with an estimated sensitivity of 1.0ng/mL. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS9319154 kit is based on HTR3A antibody-HTR3A antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect HTR3A antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, HTR3A. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions such as undiluted original Human body fluids, tissue homogenates, secretions or feces samples. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

NCBI Summary for HTR3A    The product of this gene belongs to the ligand-gated ion channel receptor superfamily. This gene encodes subunit A of the type 3 receptor for 5-hydroxytryptamine (serotonin), a biogenic hormone that functions as a neurotransmitter, a hormone, and a mitogen. This receptor causes fast, depolarizing responses in neurons after activation. It appears that the heteromeric combination of A and B subunits is necessary to provide the full functional features of this receptor, since either subunit alone results in receptors with very low conductance and response amplitude. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

UniProt Comments for HTR3A    5-HT(3): This is one of the several different receptors for 5- hydroxytryptamine (serotonin), a biogenic hormone that functions as a neurotransmitter, a hormone, and a mitogen. This receptor is a ligand-gated ion channel, which when activated causes fast, depolarizing responses in neurons. It is a cation-specific, but otherwise relatively nonselective, ion channel. Belongs to the ligand-gated ion channel (TC 1.A.9) family. 5-hydroxytryptamine receptor (TC 1.A.9.2) subfamily. HTR3A sub-subfamily. 4 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Membrane protein, multi-pass; Channel, ligand-gated; Transporter, ion channel; Membrane protein, integral; Channel, cation
