Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.
Searchable Terms for CD14 purchase    MBS704244 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip plate Quantitative Sandwich ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the CD14 molecule, ELISA Kit target analytes in biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range in biological research samples containing CD14, with an estimated sensitivity of Typically less than 0.229 ng/ml. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS704244 kit is based on CD14 antibody-CD14 antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect CD14 antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, CD14. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions such as Serum, plasma, cell culture supernates, tissue homogenates, urine. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

Product Description specifically for CD14 elisa kit

Principle of the Assay: This assay employs the quantitative sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique. Antibody specific for sCD14 has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and any sCD14 present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for sCD14 is added to the wells. After washing, avidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of sCD14 bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.

NCBI Summary for CD14    The protein encoded by this gene is a surface antigen that is preferentially expressed on monocytes/macrophages. It cooperates with other proteins to mediate the innate immune response to bacterial lipopolysaccharide. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding the same protein. [provided by RefSeq, Mar 2010]

UniProt Comments for CD14    Function: In concert with LBP, binds to monomeric lipopolysaccharide and delivers it to the MD-2/TLR4 complex, thereby mediating the innate immune response to bacterial lipopolysaccharide (LPS). Acts via MyD88, TIRAP and TRAF6, leading to NF-kappa-B activation, cytokine secretion and the inflammatory response. Up-regulates cell surface molecules, including adhesion molecules.1 PublicationManual assertion based on experiment in:Ref.15
