Specificity    This assay has high sensitivity and excellent specificity for detection of CKAP5. No significant cross-reactivity or interference between CKAP5 and analogues was observed. NOTE: Limited by current skills and knowledge, it is impossible for us to complete the cross-reactivity detection between CKAP5 and all the analogues, therefore, cross reaction may still exist in some cases.

Preparation and Storage    Store all reagents at 2-8 degree C.
Sample Preparation    We suggest pre-experimenting with neat (undiluted) samples, 1:2 or 1:4 dilutions. Please avoid diluting your samples more than 1:10 as it would exceed the dilution limit set for this kit. If the expected concentration of the target is beyond the detection range of the kit, please contact our technical support team
Product Note    Our ELISA Kit assays are dynamic research tools and sometimes they may be updated and improved. If the format of this assay is important to you then please request the current manual or contact our technical support team with a presales inquiry before placing an order. We will confirm the current details of the assay. We cannot guarantee the sample manual posted online is the most current manual.
Other Notes    Small volumes of CKAP5 elisa kit vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.
Searchable Terms for CKAP5 purchase    MBS7251404 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip plate Competitive ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the Cytoskeleton associated protein 5 (CKAP5) ELISA Kit target analytes in biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range of 2.5-50ng/mL in biological research samples containing CKAP5, with an estimated sensitivity of 0.1ng/mL. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS7251404 kit is based on CKAP5 antibody-CKAP5 antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect CKAP5 antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, CKAP5. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions such as Serum, plasma, Cell Culture Supernatants, body fluid and tissue homogenate. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

Related Product Information for CKAP5 elisa kit

Intended Uses: This CKAP5 ELISA kit is a 1.5 hour solid-phase ELISA designed for the quantitative determination of Human CKAP5. This ELISA kit for research use only, not for therapeutic or diagnostic applications!

Principle of the Assay: CKAP5 ELISA kit applies the competitive enzyme immunoassay technique utilizing a monoclonal anti-CKAP5 antibody and an CKAP5-HRP conjugate. The assay sample and buffer are incubated together with CKAP5-HRP conjugate in pre-coated plate for one hour. After the incubation period, the wells are decanted and washed five times. The wells are then incubated with a substrate for HRP enzyme. The product of the enzyme-substrate reaction forms a blue colored complex. Finally, a stop solution is added to stop the reaction, which will then turn the solution yellow. The intensity of color is measured spectrophotometrically at 450nm in a microplate reader. The intensity of the color is inversely proportional to the CKAP5 concentration since CKAP5 from samples and CKAP5-HRP conjugate compete for the anti-CKAP5 antibody binding site. Since the number of sites is limited, as more sites are occupied by CKAP5 from the sample, fewer sites are left to bind CKAP5-HRP conjugate. A standard curve is plotted relating the intensity of the color (O.D.) to the concentration of standards. The CKAP5 concentration in each sample is interpolated from this standard curve.

NCBI Summary for CKAP5    This gene encodes a cytoskeleton-associated protein which belongs to the TOG/XMAP215 family. The N-terminal half of this protein contains a microtubule-binding domain and the C-terminal half contains a KXGS motif for binding tubulin dimers. This protein has two distinct roles in spindle formation; it protects kinetochore microtubules from depolymerization and plays an essential role in centrosomal microtubule assembly. This protein may be necessary for the proper interaction of microtubules with the cell cortex for directional cell movement. It also plays a role in translation of the myelin basic protein (MBP) mRNA by interacting with heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoprotein (hnRNP) A2, which associates with MBP. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified. [provided by RefSeq, Aug 2011]

Research Articles on CKAP5    1. Aurora-A kinase does not regulate TACC3-chTOG complex formation, indicating that Aurora-A solely functions as a recruitment factor for the TACC3-chTOG complex to centrosomes and proximal mitotic spindles.
