Product Note    Our ELISA Kit assays are dynamic research tools and sometimes they may be updated and improved. If the format of this assay is important to you then please request the current manual or contact our technical support team with a presales inquiry before placing an order. We will confirm the current details of the assay. We cannot guarantee the sample manual posted online is the most current manual.
Other Notes    Small volumes of EFNA4 elisa kit vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.
Searchable Terms for EFNA4 purchase    MBS761117 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip plate Sandwich, Double Antibody ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the Ephrin A4 (EFNA4) ELISA Kit target analytes in biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range of 0.313-20ng/ml in biological research samples containing EFNA4, with an estimated sensitivity of 0.188ng/ml. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS761117 kit is based on EFNA4 antibody-EFNA4 antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect EFNA4 antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, EFNA4. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions such as Serum, plasma and other biological fluids. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

Related Product Information for EFNA4 elisa kit

Principle of the Assay: This kit was based on sandwich enzyme-linked immune-sorbent assay technology. Anti- EFNA4 antibody was pre-coated onto 96-well plates. And the biotin conjugated anti- EFNA4 antibody was used as detection antibodies. The standards, test samples and biotin conjugated detection antibody were added to the wells subsequently, and wash with wash buffer. HRP-Streptavidin was added and unbound conjugates were washed away with wash buffer. TMB substrates were used to visualize HRP enzymatic reaction. TMB was catalyzed by HRP to produce a blue color product that changed into yellow after adding acidic stop solution. The density of yellow is proportional to the EFNA4 amount of sample captured in plate. Read the O.D. absorbance at 450nm in a microplate reader, and then the concentration of EFNA4 can be calculated.

NCBI Summary for EFNA4    This gene encodes a member of the ephrin (EPH) family. The ephrins and EPH-related receptors comprise the largest subfamily of receptor protein-tyrosine kinases and have been implicated in mediating developmental events, especially in the nervous system and in erythropoiesis. Based on their structures and sequence relationships, ephrins are divided into the ephrin-A (EFNA) class, which are anchored to the membrane by a glycosylphosphatidylinositol linkage, and the ephrin-B (EFNB) class, which are transmembrane proteins. This gene encodes an EFNA class ephrin. Three transcript variants that encode distinct proteins have been identified. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

UniProt Comments for EFNA4    EFNA4: Cell surface GPI-bound ligand for Eph receptors, a family of receptor tyrosine kinases which are crucial for migration, repulsion and adhesion during neuronal, vascular and epithelial development. Binds promiscuously Eph receptors residing on adjacent cells, leading to contact-dependent bidirectional signaling into neighboring cells. May play a role in the interaction between activated B-lymphocytes and dendritic cells in tonsils. Belongs to the ephrin family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Ligand, receptor tyrosine kinase; Membrane protein, GPI anchor

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 1q21-q22

Cellular Component: extracellular region; integral to plasma membrane; plasma membrane

Molecular Function: ephrin receptor binding; protein binding; transmembrane-ephrin receptor activity

Biological Process: axon guidance; cell-cell signaling; ephrin receptor signaling pathway
