Searchable Terms for FGF-19 purchase    MBS9501947 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip plate Sandwich ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the FGF-19, ELISA Kit target analytes in biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range of 16-1000 pg/ml in biological research samples containing FGF-19, with an estimated sensitivity of 16-1000 pg/ml. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS9501947 kit is based on FGF-19 antibody-FGF-19 antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect FGF-19 antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, FGF-19. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions such as Plasma, serum, lysate. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

NCBI Summary for FGF-19    The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the fibroblast growth factor (FGF) family. FGF family members possess broad mitogenic and cell survival activities, and are involved in a variety of biological processes including embryonic development cell growth, morphogenesis, tissue repair, tumor growth and invasion. This growth factor is a high affinity, heparin dependent ligand for FGFR4. Expression of this gene was detected only in fetal but not adult brain tissue. Synergistic interaction of the chick homolog and Wnt-8c has been shown to be required for initiation of inner ear development. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

UniProt Comments for FGF-19    FGF19: Involved in the suppression of bile acid biosynthesis through down-regulation of CYP7A1 expression, following positive regulation of the JNK and ERK1/2 cascades. Stimulates glucose uptake in adipocytes. Activity requires the presence of KLB and FGFR4. Belongs to the heparin-binding growth factors family.
