Product Note    Our ELISA Kit assays are dynamic research tools and sometimes they may be updated and improved. If the format of this assay is important to you then please request the current manual or contact our technical support team with a presales inquiry before placing an order. We will confirm the current details of the assay. We cannot guarantee the sample manual posted online is the most current manual.
Other Notes    Small volumes of GPR109A elisa kit vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.
Searchable Terms for GPR109A purchase    MBS9300072 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip plate ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the G protein-coupled receptor 109A, GPR109A, ELISA Kit target analytes in biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range in biological research samples containing GPR109A. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS9300072 kit is based on GPR109A antibody-GPR109A antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect GPR109A antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, GPR109A. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

UniProt Comments for GPR109A    GPR109A: Acts as a high affinity receptor for both nicotinic acid (also known as niacin) and (D)-beta-hydroxybutyrate and mediates increased adiponectin secretion and decreased lipolysis through G(i)-protein-mediated inhibition of adenylyl cyclase. This pharmacological effect requires nicotinic acid doses that are much higher than those provided by a normal diet. Mediates nicotinic acid-induced apoptosis in mature neutrophils. Receptor activation by nicotinic acid results in reduced cAMP levels which may affect activity of cAMP-dependent protein kinase A and phosphorylation of target proteins, leading to neutrophil apoptosis. The rank order of potency for the displacement of nicotinic acid binding is 5- methyl pyrazole-3-carboxylic acid = pyridine-3-acetic acid > acifran > 5-methyl nicotinic acid = acipimox >> nicotinuric acid = nicotinamide. Belongs to the G-protein coupled receptor 1 family.

Protein type: Membrane protein, integral; GPCR, family 1; Membrane protein, multi-pass; Receptor, GPCR

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 12q24.31

Cellular Component: integral to membrane; plasma membrane

Biological Process: G-protein coupled receptor protein signaling pathway; positive regulation of neutrophil apoptosis; negative regulation of lipid catabolic process; neutrophil apoptosis
