Searchable Terms for GPC1 purchase    MBS2511357 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip plate Sandwich ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the GPC1, ELISA Kit target analytes in biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range of 78.125-5000pg/mL in biological research samples containing GPC1, with an estimated sensitivity of Min: 46.875pg/mL; Max: 5000pg/mL. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS2511357 kit is based on GPC1 antibody-GPC1 antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect GPC1 antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, GPC1. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions such as Serum, Plasma, Biological Fluids. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

Related Product Information for GPC1 elisa kit

Principle of the Assay: This ELISA kit uses Sandwich-ELISA as the method. The micro ELISA plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to GPC1. Standards or samples are added to the appropriate micro ELISA plate wells and combined with the specific antibody. Then a biotinylated detection antibody specific for GPC1 and Avidin-Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) conjugate is added to each micro plate well successively and incubated. Free components are washed away. The substrate solution is added to each well. Only those wells that contain GPC1, biotinylated detection antibody and Avidin-HRP conjugate will appear blue in color. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of a sulphuric acid solution and the color turns yellow. The optical density (OD) is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450 nm +/- 2 nm. The OD value is proportional to the concentration of GPC1. You can calculate the concentration of GPC1 in the samples by comparing the OD of the samples to the standard curve.

NCBI Summary for GPC1    Cell surface heparan sulfate proteoglycans are composed of a membrane-associated protein core substituted with a variable number of heparan sulfate chains. Members of the glypican-related integral membrane proteoglycan family (GRIPS) contain a core protein anchored to the cytoplasmic membrane via a glycosyl phosphatidylinositol linkage. These proteins may play a role in the control of cell division and growth regulation. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Section Bar
UniProt Comments for GPC1    GPC1: Cell surface proteoglycan that bears heparan sulfate. Binds, via the heparan sulfate side chains, alpha-4 (V) collagen and participates in Schwann cell myelination. May act as a catalyst in increasing the rate of conversion of prion protein PRPN(C) to PRNP(Sc) via associating (via the heparan sulfate side chains) with both forms of PRPN, targeting them to lipid rafts and facilitating their interaction. Required for proper skeletal muscle differentiation by sequestering FGF2 in lipid rafts preventing its binding to receptors (FGFRs) and inhibiting the FGF-mediated signaling. Associates (via the heparan sulfate side chains) with fibrillar APP-beta amyloid peptides in primitive and classic amyloid plaques and may be involved in the deposition of these senile plaques in the Alzheimer disease (AD) brain. Misprocessing of GPC1 is found in fibroblasts of patients with Niemann-Pick Type C1 disease. This is due to the defective deaminative degradation of heparan sulfate chains. Belongs to the glypican family.
