Other Notes    Small volumes of GIP elisa kit vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.
Searchable Terms for GIP purchase    MBS266081 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip plate Sandwich ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the Gastric Inhibitory Polypeptide (GIP) ELISA Kit target analytes in biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range of 10 ng/ml-0.156 ng/ml in biological research samples containing GIP, with an estimated sensitivity of 0.05 ng/ml. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS266081 kit is based on GIP antibody-GIP antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect GIP antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, GIP. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions such as Human serum, plasma or cell culture supernatant and organizations in the natural and recombinant GIP concentration. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

Related Product Information for GIP elisa kit

Principle of the Assay||This experiment use double-sandwich elisa technique and the ELISA Kit provided is typical. The pre-coated antibody is human GIP monoclonal antibody and the detecting antibody is polyclonal antibody with biotin labeled. Samples and biotin labeling antibody are added into ELISA plate wells and washed out with PBS or TBS. Then Avidin-peroxidase conjugates are added to ELISA wells in order; Use TMB substrate for coloring after reactant thoroughly washed out by PBS or TBS. TMB turns into blue in peroxidase catalytic and finally turns into yellow under the action of acid. The color depth and the testing factors in samples are positively correlated.

NCBI Summary for GIP    This gene encodes an incretin hormone and belongs to the glucagon superfamily. The encoded protein is important in maintaining glucose homeostasis as it is a potent stimulator of insulin secretion from pancreatic beta-cells following food ingestion and nutrient absorption. This gene stimulates insulin secretion via its G protein-coupled receptor activation of adenylyl cyclase and other signal transduction pathways. It is a relatively poor inhibitor of gastric acid secretion. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Research Articles on GIP    1. Data from studies in healthy Japanese men suggest that plasma GIP levels in postprandial period are dose dependently increased by fat content of meals of ordinary size, despite the amount of additional fat being relatively small.
