Product Note    Our ELISA Kit assays are dynamic research tools and sometimes they may be updated and improved. If the format of this assay is important to you then please request the current manual or contact our technical support team with a presales inquiry before placing an order. We will confirm the current details of the assay. We cannot guarantee the sample manual posted online is the most current manual.
Other Notes    Small volumes of GMNN elisa kit vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.
Searchable Terms for GMNN purchase    MBS2602751 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip plate ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the Geminin, GMNN, ELISA Kit target analytes in biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range in biological research samples containing GMNN. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS2602751 kit is based on GMNN antibody-GMNN antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect GMNN antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, GMNN. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

NCBI Summary for GMNN    This gene encodes a protein that plays a critical role in cell cycle regulation. The encoded protein inhibits DNA replication by binding to DNA replication factor Cdt1, preventing the incorporation of minichromosome maintenance proteins into the pre-replication complex. The encoded protein is expressed during the S and G2 phases of the cell cycle and is degraded by the anaphase-promoting complex during the metaphase-anaphase transition. Increased expression of this gene may play a role in several malignancies including colon, rectal and breast cancer. Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been observed for this gene, and two pseudogenes of this gene are located on the short arm of chromosome 16. [provided by RefSeq, Oct 2011]

UniProt Comments for GMNN    Geminin: Inhibits DNA replication by preventing the incorporation of MCM complex into pre-replication complex (pre-RC). It is degraded during the mitotic phase of the cell cycle. Its destruction at the metaphase-anaphase transition permits replication in the succeeding cell cycle. Homotetramer. Interacts with CDT1; inhibits binding of the MCM complex to origins of replication. Interacts with IDAS; targets GMNN to the nucleus, prevents GMNN interaction with CDT1 and competes with IDAS homodimerization. Belongs to the geminin family.

Protein type: Motility/polarity/chemotaxis; Cell cycle regulation

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 6p22.3

Cellular Component: nucleoplasm; cytoplasm; cytosol; nucleus

Molecular Function: protein binding; histone deacetylase binding; transcription corepressor activity

Biological Process: organ morphogenesis; negative regulation of DNA replication; protein complex assembly; mitotic cell cycle; negative regulation of transcription, DNA-dependent; negative regulation of cell cycle
