Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.
Searchable Terms for GLP1 purchase    MBS267745 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip plate Quantitative Sandwich ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the Glucagon Like Peptide 1 (GLP1) ELISA Kit target analytes in biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range of 1000 pg/ml-15.6 pg/ml in biological research samples containing GLP1, with an estimated sensitivity of Up to 5 pg/ml. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS267745 kit is based on GLP1 antibody-GLP1 antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect GLP1 antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, GLP1. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions such as Serum, plasma or cell culture supernatant. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

Related Product Information for GLP1 elisa kit

Principle of the Assay: This experiment use double-sandwich elisa technique and the ELISA Kit provided is typical. The pre-coated antibody is human GLP1 monoclonal antibody and the detecting antibody is polyclonal antibody with biotin labeled. Samples and biotin labeling antibody are added into ELISA plate wells and washed out with PBS or TBS. Then Avidin-peroxidase conjugates are added to ELISA wells in order; Use TMB substrate for coloring after reactant thoroughly washed out by PBS or TBS. TMB turns into blue in peroxidase catalytic and finally turns into yellow under the action of acid. The color depth and the testing factors in samples are positively correlated.

NCBI Summary for GLP1    The protein encoded by this gene is actually a preproprotein that is cleaved into four distinct mature peptides. One of these, glucagon, is a pancreatic hormone that counteracts the glucose-lowering action of insulin by stimulating glycogenolysis and gluconeogenesis. Glucagon is a ligand for a specific G-protein linked receptor whose signalling pathway controls cell proliferation. Two of the other peptides are secreted from gut endocrine cells and promote nutrient absorption through distinct mechanisms. Finally, the fourth peptide is similar to glicentin, an active enteroglucagon. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

UniProt Comments for GLP1    GCG: Glucagon plays a key role in glucose metabolism and homeostasis. Regulates blood glucose by increasing gluconeogenesis and decreasing glycolysis. A counterregulatory hormone of insulin, raises plasma glucose levels in response to insulin-induced hypoglycemia. Plays an important role in initiating and maintaining hyperglycemic conditions in diabetes. Glucagon release is stimulated by hypoglycemia and inhibited by hyperglycemia, insulin, and somatostatin. GLP-1 and GLP-2 are induced in response to nutrient ingestion. Glucagon is secreted in the A cells of the islets of Langerhans. GLP-1, GLP-2, oxyntomodulin and glicentin are secreted from enteroendocrine cells throughout the gastrointestinal tract. GLP1 and GLP2 are also secreted in selected neurons in the brain. Belongs to the glucagon family.

Research Articles on GLP1    1. Data suggest that insulin secretion is down-regulated by aging and diabetes type 2 exacerbates this condition; secretion of adiponectin and glucagon-like peptide 1 (derived from glucagon) are also down-regulated.
