If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.
Searchable Terms for KRT3 purchase    MBS9312250 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip plate Sandwich (Quantitative) ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the Keratin 3 (KRT3) ELISA Kit target analytes in biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range of 0.25 ng/ml - 8 ng/ml in biological research samples containing KRT3, with an estimated sensitivity of 0.1 ng/ml. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS9312250 kit is based on KRT3 antibody-KRT3 antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect KRT3 antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, KRT3. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions such as Undiluted original Human body fluids, tissue homogenates, secretions or feces samples. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

NCBI Summary for KRT3    The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the keratin gene family. The type II cytokeratins consist of basic or neutral proteins which are arranged in pairs of heterotypic keratin chains coexpressed during differentiation of simple and stratified epithelial tissues. This type II cytokeratin is specifically expressed in the corneal epithelium with family member KRT12 and mutations in these genes have been associated with Meesmann's Corneal Dystrophy. The type II cytokeratins are clustered in a region of chromosome 12q12-q13. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Section Bar
UniProt Comments for KRT3    K3: a type II cytoskeletal keratin. The keratins are intermediate filament proteins responsible for the structural integrity of epithelial cells and are subdivided into cytokeratins and hair keratins. There are two types of cytoskeletal and microfibrillar keratin: type I (acidic; 40-55 kDa) [K9 to K20] and type II (neutral to basic; 56-70 kDa) [K1 to K8]. Both a basic and an acidic keratin are required for filament assembly. Generally associates with K12.

Protein type: Cytoskeletal

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 12q13.13

Cellular Component: keratin filament; intermediate filament

Molecular Function: structural molecule activity

Biological Process: epithelial cell differentiation; intermediate filament cytoskeleton organization and biogenesis

Disease: Corneal Dystrophy, Meesmann
