Specificity    This assay has high sensitivity and excellent specificity for detection of LMCD1. No significant cross-reactivity or interference between LMCD1 and analogues was observed. NOTE: Limited by current skills and knowledge, it is impossible for us to complete the cross-reactivity detection between LMCD1 and all the analogues, therefore, cross reaction may still exist in some cases.

Preparation and Storage    Store all reagents at 2-8 degree C.
Sample Preparation    We suggest pre-experimenting with neat (undiluted) samples, 1:2 or 1:4 dilutions. Please avoid diluting your samples more than 1:10 as it would exceed the dilution limit set for this kit. If the expected concentration of the target is beyond the detection range of the kit, please contact our technical support team
Product Note    Our ELISA Kit assays are dynamic research tools and sometimes they may be updated and improved. If the format of this assay is important to you then please request the current manual or contact our technical support team with a presales inquiry before placing an order. We will confirm the current details of the assay. We cannot guarantee the sample manual posted online is the most current manual.
Other Notes    Small volumes of LMCD1 elisa kit vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.
Searchable Terms for LMCD1 purchase    MBS7211789 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip plate Quantitative Competitive ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the LIM and cysteine rich domains protein 1 (LMCD1) ELISA Kit target analytes in biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range in biological research samples containing LMCD1, with an estimated sensitivity of 0.1 ng/mL. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS7211789 kit is based on LMCD1 antibody-LMCD1 antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect LMCD1 antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, LMCD1. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions such as Serum, plasma, cell culture supernatants, body fluid and tissue homogenate. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

Related Product Information for LMCD1 elisa kit

Intended Uses: This LMCD1 ELISA kit is a 1.5 hour solid-phase ELISA designed for the quantitative determination of Human LMCD1. This ELISA kit for research use only, not for therapeutic or diagnostic applications!

Principle of the Assay: LMCD1 ELISA kit applies the competitive enzyme immunoassay technique utilizing a monoclonal anti-LMCD1 antibody and an LMCD1-HRP conjugate. The assay sample and buffer are incubated together with LMCD1-HRP conjugate in pre-coated plate for one hour. After the incubation period, the wells are decanted and washed five times. The wells are then incubated with a substrate for HRP enzyme. The product of the enzyme-substrate reaction forms a blue colored complex. Finally, a stop solution is added to stop the reaction, which will then turn the solution yellow. The intensity of color is measured spectrophotometrically at 450nm in a microplate reader. The intensity of the color is inversely proportional to the LMCD1 concentration since LMCD1 from samples and LMCD1-HRP conjugate compete for the anti-LMCD1 antibody binding site. Since the number of sites is limited, as more sites are occupied by LMCD1 from the sample, fewer sites are left to bind LMCD1-HRP conjugate. A standard curve is plotted relating the intensity of the color (O.D.) to the concentration of standards. The LMCD1 concentration in each sample is interpolated from this standard curve.

NCBI Summary for LMCD1    This gene encodes a member of the LIM-domain family of zinc finger proteins. The encoded protein contains an N-terminal cysteine-rich domain and two C-terminal LIM domains. The presence of LIM domains suggests involvement in protein-protein interactions. The protein may act as a co-regulator of transcription along with other transcription factors. Alternate splicing results in multiple transcript variants of this gene. [provided by RefSeq, May 2013]

UniProt Comments for LMCD1    LMCD1: Transcriptional cofactor that restricts GATA6 function by inhibiting DNA-binding, resulting in repression of GATA6 transcriptional activation of downstream target genes. Represses GATA6-mediated trans activation of lung- and cardiac tissue- specific promoters. Inhibits DNA-binding by GATA4 and GATA1 to the cTNC promoter. Plays a critical role in the development of cardiac hypertrophy via activation of calcineurin/nuclear factor of activated T-cells signaling pathway.

Protein type: Unknown function

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 3p26-p24

Cellular Component: extracellular matrix; extracellular space; cytoplasm; nucleus

Molecular Function: zinc ion binding; transcription corepressor activity

Biological Process: transcription, DNA-dependent; negative regulation of transcription from RNA polymerase II promoter
