Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.
Searchable Terms for NT-ProBNP purchase    MBS269035 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip plate Sandwich ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the N-Terminal Pro Brain Natriuretic Peptide (NT-ProBNP) ELISA Kit target analytes in biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range of 2000 pg/ml-31.2 pg/ml in biological research samples containing NT-ProBNP, with an estimated sensitivity of 12 pg/ml. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS269035 kit is based on NT-ProBNP antibody-NT-ProBNP antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect NT-ProBNP antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, NT-ProBNP. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions such as Human serum, plasma or Cell Culture Supernatant and organizations in the natural and recombinant NT-ProBNP concentration. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

Related Product Information for NT-ProBNP elisa kit

Principle of the Assay: This experiment use double-sandwich elisa technique and the ELISA Kit provided is typical. The pre-coated antibody is human NT-ProBNP monoclonal antibody and the detecting antibody is polyclonal antibody with biotin labeled. Samples and biotin labeling antibody are added into ELISA plate wells and washed out with PBS or TBS. Then Avidin-peroxidase conjugates are added to ELISA wells in order; Use TMB substrate for coloring after reactant thoroughly washed out by PBS or TBS. TMB turns into blue in peroxidase catalytic and finally turns into yellow under the action of acid. The color depth and the testing factors in samples are positively correlated.

NCBI Summary for NT-ProBNP    The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the natriuretic peptide family. Natriuretic peptides are implicated in the control of extracellular fluid volume and electrolyte homeostasis. This protein is synthesized as a large precursor (containing a signal peptide), which is processed to release a peptide from the N-terminus with similarity to vasoactive peptide, cardiodilatin, and another peptide from the C-terminus with natriuretic-diuretic activity. Mutations in this gene have been associated with atrial fibrillation familial type 6. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2009]

UniProt Comments for NT-ProBNP    NPPA: Hormone playing a key role in cardiovascular homeostasis through regulation of natriuresis, diuresis, and vasodilation. Also plays a role in female pregnancy by promoting trophoblast invasion and spiral artery remodeling in uterus. Specifically binds and stimulates the cGMP production of the NPR1 receptor. Binds the clearance receptor NPR3. Defects in NPPA are the cause of familial atrial fibrillation type 6 (ATFB6). Atrial fibrillation is a common disorder of cardiac rhythm that is hereditary in a small subgroup of patients. It is characterized by disorganized atrial electrical activity, progressive deterioration of atrial electromechanical function and ineffective pumping of blood into the ventricles. It can be associated with palpitations, syncope, thromboembolic stroke, and congestive heart failure. Belongs to the natriuretic peptide family.

Research Articles on NT-ProBNP    1. The findings suggest that the NPPA rs5068, or genetic variants in linkage disequilibrium, might affect susceptibility to left ventricular hypertrophy and support the possible protective role of natriuretic peptides.
