Searchable Terms for NGF purchase    MBS175806 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip-or-full plate Sandwich ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the NGF/NGF beta, ELISA Kit target analytes in biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range of 15.6pg/ml-1000pg/ml in biological research samples containing NGF, with an estimated sensitivity of < 1pg/ml. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS175806 kit is based on NGF antibody-NGF antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect NGF antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, NGF. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted human body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions such as Cell culture supernates and serum. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

Product Description specifically for NGF elisa kit

Principle of the assay: human NGF ELISA Kit was based on standard sandwich enzyme-linked immune-sorbent assay technology. A monoclonal antibody from mouse specific for NGF has been precoated onto 96-well plates. Standards(NSO,S122-A241) and test samples are added to the wells, a biotinylated detection polyclonal antibody from goat specific for NGF is added subsequently and then followed by washing with PBS or TBS buffer. Avidin-Biotin-Peroxidase Complex was added and unbound conjugates were washed away with PBS or TBS buffer. HRP substrate TMB was used to visualize HRP enzymatic reaction. TMB was catalyzed by HRP to produce a blue color product that changed into yellow after adding acidic stop solution. The density of yellow is proportional to the human NGF amount of sample captured in plate.
Background: Nerve growth factor (NGF) is a polypeptide involved in the regulation of growth and differentiation of sympathetic and certain sensory neurons. NGF is thought to have a profound effect on the development and maintenance of sympathetic and embryonic sensory neurones. NGF activity isolated from the male mouse submaxillary gland (MSG) consists of three types of subunits, alpha, beta and gamma, which specifically interact to form a 7S, approximately 130,000-molecular weight (Mr) complex. The 7S complex contains two identical 118-amino acid beta-chains, which are solely responsible for the nerve growth-stimulating activity of NGF.1 NGF, which is expressedby inflammatory cells and effects changes that lead to increased neural responsiveness, could be a pivotal mediator in allergic rhinitis.2 The standard product used in this kit is human 2.5S NGF, which is a dimmer linking with twopolypeptide chains of 120 amino acids.

NCBI Summary for NGF    This gene is a member of the NGF-beta family and encodes a secreted protein which homodimerizes and is incorporated into a larger complex. This protein has nerve growth stimulating activity and the complex is involved in the regulation of growth and the differentiation of sympathetic and certain sensory neurons. Mutations in this gene have been associated with hereditary sensory and autonomic neuropathy, type 5 (HSAN5), and dysregulation of this gene's expression is associated with allergic rhinitis.  UniProt Comments for NGF    NGF: Nerve growth factor is important for the development and maintenance of the sympathetic and sensory nervous systems. Extracellular ligand for the NTRK1 and NGFR receptors, activates cellular signaling cascades through those receptor tyrosine kinase to regulate neuronal proliferation, differentiation and survival. Homodimer. Belongs to the NGF-beta family.
