Specificity    This assay has high sensitivity and excellent specificity for detection of NPY . No significant cross-reactivity or interference between NPY and analogues was observed. Note: Limited by current skills and knowledge, it is difficult for us to complete the crossreactivity detection between NPY and all the analogues, therefore, cross reaction may still exist.

Product Note    Our ELISA Kit assays are dynamic research tools and sometimes they may be updated and improved. If the format of this assay is important to you then please request the current manual or contact our technical support team with a presales inquiry before placing an order. We will confirm the current details of the assay. We cannot guarantee the sample manual posted online is the most current manual.
Other Notes    Small volumes of NPY elisa kit vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.
Searchable Terms for NPY purchase    MBS7606898 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip plate Sandwich ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the NPY (Neuropeptide Y) ELISA Kit target analytes in biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range of 15.625-1000pg/ml in biological research samples containing NPY, with an estimated sensitivity of <9.375pg/ml. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS7606898 kit is based on NPY antibody-NPY antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect NPY antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, NPY. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions such as Serum, plasma, tissue homogenates and other biological fluids. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

Related Product Information for NPY elisa kit

Principle of the Assay: This kit was based on sandwich enzyme-linked immune-sorbent assay technology. Anti- NPY antibody was pre-coated onto 96-well plates. And the biotin conjugated anti- NPY antibody was used as detection antibodies. The standards, test samples and biotin conjugated detection antibody were added to the wells subsequently, and washed with wash buffer. HRPStreptavidin was added and unbound conjugates were washed away with wash buffer. TMB substrates were used to visualize HRP enzymatic reaction. TMB was catalyzed by HRP to produce a blue color product that changed into yellow after adding acidic stop solution. The density of yellow is proportional to the NPY amount of sample captured in plate. Read the O.D. absorbance at 450nm in a microplate reader, and then the concentration of NPY can be calculated.

NCBI Summary for NPY    This gene encodes a neuropeptide that is widely expressed in the central nervous system and influences many physiological processes, including cortical excitability, stress response, food intake, circadian rhythms, and cardiovascular function. The neuropeptide functions through G protein-coupled receptors to inhibit adenylyl cyclase, activate mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK), regulate intracellular calcium levels, and activate potassium channels. A polymorphism in this gene resulting in a change of leucine 7 to proline in the signal peptide is associated with elevated cholesterol levels, higher alcohol consumption, and may be a risk factor for various metabolic and cardiovascular diseases. The protein also exhibits antimicrobial activity against bacteria and fungi. [provided by RefSeq, Oct 2014]

Research Articles on NPY    1. Both structural (+1128T/C) and promoter polymorphisms (-399 T/C) of Neuropeptide Y are strongly associated with type-II diabetes susceptibility in Gujarat population which at least in part, may result in higher levels of Neuropeptide Y thereby suggesting its crucial role in type-II diabetes susceptibility.
