Searchable Terms for PDGFB purchase    MBS455383 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip plate Sandwich ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the Platelet Derived Growth Factor Subunit B (PDGFB) ELISA Kit target analytes in biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range of 31.25-2000pg/mL in biological research samples containing PDGFB, with an estimated sensitivity of 11.3pg/mL. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS455383 kit is based on PDGFB antibody-PDGFB antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect PDGFB antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, PDGFB. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions such as Serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

NCBI Summary for PDGFB    This gene encodes a member of the protein family comprised of both platelet-derived growth factors (PDGF) and vascular endothelial growth factors (VEGF). The encoded preproprotein is proteolytically processed to generate platelet-derived growth factor subunit B, which can homodimerize, or alternatively, heterodimerize with the related platelet-derived growth factor subunit A. These proteins bind and activate PDGF receptor tyrosine kinases, which play a role in a wide range of developmental processes. Mutations in this gene are associated with meningioma. Reciprocal translocations between chromosomes 22 and 17, at sites where this gene and that for collagen type 1, alpha 1 are located, are associated with dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans, a rare skin tumor. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Oct 2015]

UniProt Comments for PDGFB    Growth factor that plays an essential role in the regulation of embryonic development, cell proliferation, cell migration, survival and chemotaxis. Potent mitogen for cells of mesenchymal origin (PubMed:26599395). Required for normal proliferation and recruitment of pericytes and vascular smooth muscle cells in the central nervous system, skin, lung, heart and placenta. Required for normal blood vessel development, and for normal development of kidney glomeruli. Plays an important role in wound healing. Signaling is modulated by the formation of heterodimers with PDGFA ().
