Searchable Terms for PF4 purchase    MBS008893 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip plate Sandwich ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the Platelet Factor 4 (PF4) ELISA Kit target analytes in biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range of 3.12 ng/ml - 100 ng/ml in biological research samples containing PF4, with an estimated sensitivity of 1.0 ng/ml. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS008893 kit is based on PF4 antibody-PF4 antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect PF4 antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, PF4. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions such as Serum, Plasma, Tissue Homogenate, Feces and Urine. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

Product Description specifically for PF4 elisa kit

Intended Uses: This Quantitative Sandwich ELISA kit is only for in vitro research use only, not for drug, household, therapeutic or diagnostic applications! It is intended to be determinated PF4 concentrations in Human serum, plasma and other body fluids. Using Purified Human PF4 antibody to coat Microelisa Stripplate wells to make solid-phase antibody, then add PF4 and PF4 antibody which has been labeled with HRP to wells, then the reactants become antibody-antigen-antibody-enzyme complex, after washing completely, add TMB substrate solution, TMB substrate becomes blue color under HRP enzyme-catalyzed, reaction is terminated by the addition of a sulphuric acid solution and the color change is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450 nm. The concentration of PF4 in the samples is then determined by comparing the O.D. of the samples to the standard curve.

NCBI Summary for PF4    This gene encodes a member of the CXC chemokine family. This chemokine is released from the alpha granules of activated platelets in the form of a homotetramer which has high affinity for heparin and is involved in platelet aggregation. This protein is chemotactic for numerous other cell type and also functions as an inhibitor of hematopoiesis, angiogenesis and T-cell function. [provided by RefSeq, Mar 2012]
Section Bar
UniProt Comments for PF4    PF4: Released during platelet aggregation. Neutralizes the anticoagulant effect of heparin because it binds more strongly to heparin than to the chondroitin-4-sulfate chains of the carrier molecule. Chemotactic for neutrophils and monocytes. Inhibits endothelial cell proliferation, the short form is a more potent inhibitor than the longer form. Belongs to the intercrine alpha (chemokine CxC) family.

Protein type: Secreted; Chemokine; Motility/polarity/chemotaxis; Apoptosis; Secreted, signal peptide

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 4q12-q21

Cellular Component: extracellular space; extracellular region

Molecular Function: heparin binding; CXCR3 chemokine receptor binding; chemokine activity

Biological Process: negative regulation of cytolysis; platelet activation; leukocyte chemotaxis; cytokine and chemokine mediated signaling pathway; positive regulation of leukocyte chemotaxis; response to lipopolysaccharide; positive regulation of cAMP metabolic process; positive regulation of tumor necrosis factor production; negative regulation of megakaryocyte differentiation; regulation of cell proliferation; G-protein coupled receptor protein signaling pathway; negative regulation of angiogenesis; platelet degranulation; negative regulation of MHC class II biosynthetic process; positive regulation of transcription from RNA polymerase II promoter; immune response; inflammatory response; positive regulation of macrophage differentiation; blood coagulation
