Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.
Searchable Terms for PRICKLE1 purchase    MBS281033 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip plate Sandwich ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the Prickle-like protein 1 (PRICKLE1) ELISA Kit target analytes in biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range in biological research samples containing PRICKLE1. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS281033 kit is based on PRICKLE1 antibody-PRICKLE1 antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect PRICKLE1 antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, PRICKLE1. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions such as Serum, Plasma, Other biological fluids. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

Related Product Information for PRICKLE1 elisa kit

Principle of the Assay: This assay employs a two-site sandwich ELISA to quantitate PRICKLE1 in samples. An antibody specific for PRICKLE1 has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and anyPRICKLE1 present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for PRICKLE1 is added to the wells. After washing, Streptavidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of PRICKLE1 bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.

NCBI Summary for PRICKLE1    This gene encodes a nuclear receptor that may be a negative regulator of the Wnt/beta-catenin signaling pathway. The encoded protein localizes to the nuclear membrane and has been implicated in the nuclear trafficking of the transcription repressors REST/NRSF and REST4. Mutations in this gene have been linked to progressive myoclonus epilepsy. Alternate splicing results in multiple transcript variants. A pseudogene of this gene is found on chromosome 3. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2009]

UniProt Comments for PRICKLE1    PRICKLE1: Involved in the planar cell polarity pathway that controls convergent extension during gastrulation and neural tube closure. Convergent extension is a complex morphogenetic process during which cells elongate, move mediolaterally, and intercalate between neighboring cells, leading to convergence toward the mediolateral axis and extension along the anteroposterior axis. Necessary for nuclear localization of REST. May serve as nuclear receptor. Defects in PRICKLE1 are the cause of progressive myoclonic epilepsy type 1B (EPM1B). EPM1B is an autosomal recessive disorder characterized by myoclonus that progresses in severity over time, tonic-clonic seizures and ataxia. Defects in PRICKLE1 may be a cause of susceptibility to neural tube defects (NTD). Congenital malformations of the central nervous system and adjacent structures related to defective neural tube closure during the first trimester of pregnancy. Failure of neural tube closure can occur at any level of the embryonic axis. Common NTD forms include anencephaly, myelomeningocele and spina bifida, which result from the failure of fusion in the cranial and spinal region of the neural tube. NTDs have a multifactorial etiology encompassing both genetic and environmental components. Belongs to the prickle / espinas / testin family.

Research Articles on PRICKLE1    1. Prickle1 localized to the membrane through its farnesyl moiety, and the membrane localization was necessary for Prickle1 to regulate migration, to bind to CLASPs and LL5beta, and to promote microtubule targeting of focal adhesions.
