   Principle of the Assay: This assay employs a two-site sandwich ELISA to quantitate DDX41 in samples. An antibody specific for DDX41 has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and anyDDX41 present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for DDX41 is added to the wells. After washing, Streptavidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of DDX41 bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.

 NCBI Summary for DDX41    DEAD box proteins, characterized by the conserved motif Asp-Glu-Ala-Asp (DEAD), are putative RNA helicases. They are implicated in a number of cellular processes involving alteration of RNA secondary structure, such as translation initiation, nuclear and mitochondrial splicing, and ribosome and spliceosome assembly. Based on their distribution patterns, some members of the DEAD box protein family are believed to be involved in embryogenesis, spermatogenesis, and cellular growth and division. The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the DEAD box protein family and interacts with several spliceosomal proteins. In addition, the encoded protein may recognize the bacterial second messengers cyclic di-GMP and cyclic di-AMP, resulting in the induction of genes involved in the innate immune response.
