Searchable Terms for RHEB purchase    MBS9330069 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip plate Sandwich ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the Ras homolog enriched in brain (RHEB) ELISA Kit target analytes in biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range of 3.12ng/ml-100ng/ml in biological research samples containing RHEB, with an estimated sensitivity of 1.0ng/ml. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS9330069 kit is based on RHEB antibody-RHEB antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect RHEB antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, RHEB. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions such as Undiluted original Human body fluids, tissue homogenates, secretions or feces samples. This kit is NOT suitable for assaying non-biological sources of substances. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

NCBI Summary for RHEB    This gene is a member of the small GTPase superfamily and encodes a lipid-anchored, cell membrane protein with five repeats of the RAS-related GTP-binding region. This protein is vital in regulation of growth and cell cycle progression due to its role in the insulin/TOR/S6K signaling pathway. The protein has GTPase activity and shuttles between a GDP-bound form and a GTP-bound form, and farnesylation of the protein is required for this activity. Three pseudogenes have been mapped, two on chromosome 10 and one on chromosome 22. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

UniProt Comments for RHEB    RHEB: Stimulates the phosphorylation of S6K1 and EIF4EBP1 through activation of mTORC1 signaling. Activates the protein kinase activity of mTORC1. Has low intrinsic GTPase activity. Binds to mTORC1 in a guanyl nucleotide-independent manner. Interacts directly with MTOR, MLST8 and RPTOR. Interacts with TSC2. Ubiquitous. Highest levels observed in skeletal and cardiac muscle. Alternates between an inactive form bound to GDP and an active form bound to GTP. Inactivated by TSC1-TSC2 via the GTPase activating protein (GAP) domain of TSC2. Belongs to the small GTPase superfamily. Rheb family.

Protein type: G protein; G protein, monomeric, Rheb; G protein, monomeric

Research Articles on RHEB    1. Data indicate that Rheb G63A stimulated phosphorylation of the mTORC1 substrate p70S6 kinase more strongly than wild-type, thus offering a new tool for mammalian target of rapamycin (mTOR) signaling.
