Other Notes    Small volumes of SAP elisa kit vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.
Searchable Terms for SAP purchase    MBS262436 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip plate Sandwich ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the Serum Amyloid P Component (SAP) ELISA Kit target analytes in biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range of 500 ng/ml-7.8 ng/ml in biological research samples containing SAP, with an estimated sensitivity of 1 ng/ml. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS262436 kit is based on SAP antibody-SAP antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect SAP antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, SAP. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions such as Human serum, plasma or Cell Culture Supernatant and organizations in the natural and recombinant SAP concentration. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

Related Product Information for SAP elisa kit

Principle of the assay: This experiment use double-sandwich elisa technique and the ELISA Kit provided is typical. The pre-coated antibody is human SAP monoclonal antibody and the detecting antibody is polyclonal antibody with biotin labeled. Samples and biotin labeling antibody are added into ELISA plate wells and washed out with PBS or TBS. Then Avidin-peroxidase conjugates are added to ELISA wells in order; Use TMB substrate for coloring after reactant thoroughly washed out by PBS or TBS. TMB turns into blue in peroxidase catalytic and finally turns into yellow under the action of acid. The color depth and the testing factors in samples are positively correlated.

NCBI Summary for SAP    The protein encoded by this gene is a glycoprotein, belonging to the pentraxin family of proteins, which has a characteristic pentameric organization. These family members have considerable sequence homology which is thought to be the result of gene duplication. The binding of the encoded protein to proteins in the pathological amyloid cross-beta fold suggests its possible role as a chaperone. This protein is also thought to control the degradation of chromatin. It has been demonstrated that this protein binds to apoptotic cells at an early stage, which raises the possibility that it is involved in dealing with apoptotic cells in vivo. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2008]

UniProt Comments for SAP    APCS: Can interact with DNA and histones and may scavenge nuclear material released from damaged circulating cells. May also function as a calcium-dependent lectin. SAP is a precursor of amyloid component P which is found in basement membrane and associated with amyloid deposits. Belongs to the pentaxin family.
