Intended Uses    This Quantitative Sandwich ELISA kit is only for in vitro research use only, not for drug, household, therapeutic or diagnostic applications! It is intended to be determinated SYNPO concentrations in Human serum, plasma and other body fluids. Using Purified Human SYNPO antibody to coat Microelisa Stripplate wells to make solid-phase antibody, then add SYNPO and SYNPO antibody which has been labeled with HRP to wells, then the reactants become antibody-antigen-antibody-enzyme complex, after washing completely, add TMB substrate solution, TMB substrate becomes blue color under HRP enzyme-catalyzed, reaction is terminated by the addition of a sulphuric acid solution and the color change is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450 nm. The concentration of SYNPO in the samples is then determined by comparing the O.D. of the samples to the standard curve.
 Intra-assay Precision    Intra-assay CV (%) is less than 15%.
 Inter-assay Precision    Inter-assay CV (%) is less than 15%. [CV(%) = SD/mean x100]

Product Note    Our ELISA Kit assays are dynamic research tools and sometimes they may be updated and improved. If the format of this assay is important to you then please request the current manual or contact our technical support team with a presales inquiry before placing an order. We will confirm the current details of the assay. We cannot guarantee the sample manual posted online is the most current manual.
Other Notes    Small volumes of SYNPO elisa kit vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.
Searchable Terms for SYNPO purchase    MBS014584 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip plate Sandwich ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the Synaptopodin (SYNPO) ELISA Kit target analytes in biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range of 3.12 ng/ml - 100 ng/ml in biological research samples containing SYNPO, with an estimated sensitivity of 1.0 ng/ml. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS014584 kit is based on SYNPO antibody-SYNPO antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect SYNPO antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, SYNPO. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions such as Serum, Plasma, Tissue Homogenate, Feces, Urine and Body Fluids. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

NCBI Summary for SYNPO    Synaptopodin is an actin-associated protein that may play a role in actin-based cell shape and motility. The name synaptopodin derives from the protein's associations with postsynaptic densities and dendritic spines and with renal podocytes (Mundel et al., 1997 [PubMed 9314539]).[supplied by OMIM, Mar 2008]

UniProt Comments for SYNPO    SYNPO: an actin-associated protein that may play a role in modulating actin-based shape and motility of dendritic spines and renal podocyte foot processes. Seems to be essential for the formation of spine apparatuses in spines of telencephalic neurons, which is involved in synaptic plasticity.

Protein type: Cytoskeletal; Actin-binding

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 5q33.1

Cellular Component: postsynaptic membrane; tight junction; cytoplasm; postsynaptic density; stress fiber; dendritic spine; perikaryon; actin cytoskeleton

Molecular Function: protein binding; actin binding

Biological Process: regulation of stress fiber formation; positive regulation of actin filament bundle formation
