Searchable Terms for XRCC6 purchase    MBS082401 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip plate Sandwich ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the X-Ray Repair Cross Complementing 6 (XRCC6) ELISA Kit target analytes in biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range of 0.625ng/ml-20ng/ml in biological research samples containing XRCC6, with an estimated sensitivity of 0.1ng/ml. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS082401 kit is based on XRCC6 antibody-XRCC6 antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect XRCC6 antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, XRCC6. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted human body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions such as Undiluted original Human body fluids, tissue homogenates, secretions or feces samples. This kit is NOT suitable for assaying non-biological sources of substances. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

Protein Family    X-ray repair cross-complementing protein
NCBI Summary for XRCC6    The protein encoded by this gene is involved in the efficient repair of DNA single-strand breaks formed by exposure to ionizing radiation and alkylating agents. This protein interacts with DNA ligase III, polymerase beta and poly (ADP-ribose) polymerase to participate in the base excision repair pathway. It may play a role in DNA processing during meiogenesis and recombination in germ cells. A rare microsatellite polymorphism in this gene is associated with cancer in patients of varying radiosensitivity. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

UniProt Comments for XRCC6    XRCC1: Corrects defective DNA strand-break repair and sister chromatid exchange following treatment with ionizing radiation and alkylating agents. Homodimer. Interacts with polynucleotide kinase (PNK), DNA polymerase-beta (POLB) and DNA ligase III (LIG3). Interacts with APTX and APLF. Interacts with APEX1; the interaction is induced by SIRT1 and increases with the acetylated form of APEX1.

Protein type: DNA repair, damage

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 19q13.2

Cellular Component: nucleoplasm; nucleus

Molecular Function: protein binding; enzyme binding; damaged DNA binding

Biological Process: single strand break repair; base-excision repair; DNA repair
