We will confirm the current details of the assay. We cannot guarantee the sample manual posted online is the most current manual.
Other Notes    Small volumes of CBR1 elisa kit vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.
Searchable Terms for CBR1 purchase    MBS705832 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip plate ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the carbonyl reductase 1 (CBR1) ELISA Kit target analytes in biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range of 31.25 pg/ml -2000 pg/mL in biological research samples containing CBR1, with an estimated sensitivity of <7.81 pg/mL. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS705832 kit is based on CBR1 antibody-CBR1 antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect CBR1 antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, CBR1. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions such as Serum, plasma, tissue homogenates. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

Related Product Information for CBR1 elisa kit

Principle of the Assay: This assay employs the quantitative sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique. Antibody specific for CBR1 has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and any CBR1 present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for CBR1 is added to the wells. After washing, avidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of CBR1 bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.

NCBI Summary for CBR1    The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the short-chain dehydrogenases/reductases (SDR) family, which function as NADPH-dependent oxidoreductases having wide specificity for carbonyl compounds, such as quinones, prostaglandins, and various xenobiotics. Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Nov 2013]

UniProt Comments for CBR1    Function: NADPH-dependent reductase with broad substrate specificity. Catalyzes the reduction of a wide variety of carbonyl compounds including quinones, prostaglandins, menadione, plus various xenobiotics. Catalyzes the reduction of the antitumor anthracyclines doxorubicin and daunorubicin to the cardiotoxic compounds doxorubicinol and daunorubicinol. Can convert prostaglandin E2 to prostaglandin F2-alpha. Can bind glutathione, which explains its higher affinity for glutathione-conjugated substrates. Catalyzes the reduction of S-nitrosoglutathione.4 PublicationsManual assertion based on experiment in:Ref.14

Catalytic activity: R-CHOH-R' + NADP+ = R-CO-R' + NADPH.

Enzyme regulation: Inhibited by quercetin, rutenin and its derivatives.2 PublicationsManual assertion based on experiment in:Ref.14
