   Principle of the assay: This assay employs the quantitative sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique. Antibody specific for CYSLTR1 has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and any CYSLTR1 present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for CYSLTR1 is added to the wells. After washing, avidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of CYSLTR1 bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.

 NCBI Summary for CYSLTR1    This gene encodes a member of the G-protein coupled receptor 1 family. The encoded protein is a receptor for cysteinyl leukotrienes, and is involved in mediating bronchoconstriction via activation of a phosphatidylinositol-calcium second messenger system. Activation of the encoded receptor results in contraction and proliferation of bronchial smooth muscle cells, eosinophil migration, and damage to the mucus layer in the lung. Upregulation of this gene is associated with asthma and dysregulation may also be implicated in cancer. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Aug 2013]
