Searchable Terms for ENPP2 purchase    MBS930753 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip plate Competitive ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the ectonucleotide pyrophosphatase/phosphodiesterase 2 (ENPP2) ELISA Kit target analytes in biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range of 50ng/ml-2000 ng/ml in biological research samples containing ENPP2, with an estimated sensitivity of 50ng/ml. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS930753 kit is based on ENPP2 antibody-ENPP2 antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect ENPP2 antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, ENPP2. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions such as Serum, plasma and tissue homogenates. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

Related Product Information for ENPP2 elisa kit

Principle of the Assay: This assay employs the competitive inhibition enzyme immunoassay technique. The microtiter plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with ENPP2. Standards or samples are added to the appropriate microtiter plate wells with Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) conjugated antibody preparation specific for ENPP2. The competitive inhibition reaction is launched between with pre-coated ENPP2 and ENPP2 in samples. A substrate solution is added to the wells and the color develops in opposite to the amount of ENPP2 in the samples. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.

NCBI Summary for ENPP2    The protein encoded by this gene functions as both a phosphodiesterase, which cleaves phosphodiester bonds at the 5' end of oligonucleotides, and a phospholipase, which catalyzes production of lysophosphatidic acid (LPA) in extracellular fluids. LPA evokes growth factor-like responses including stimulation of cell proliferation and chemotaxis. This gene product stimulates the motility of tumor cells and has angiogenic properties, and its expression is upregulated in several kinds of carcinomas. The gene product is secreted and further processed to make the biologically active form. Several alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified. [provided by RefSeq, Aug 2008]

UniProt Comments for ENPP2    ENPP2: Hydrolyzes lysophospholipids to produce lysophosphatidic acid (LPA) in extracellular fluids. Major substrate is lysophosphatidylcholine. Also can act on sphingosylphosphphorylcholine producing sphingosine-1-phosphate, a modulator of cell motility. Can hydrolyze, in vitro, bis-pNPP, to some extent pNP-TMP, and barely ATP. Involved in several motility- related processes such as angiogenesis and neurite outgrowth. Acts as an angiogenic factor by stimulating migration of smooth muscle cells and microtubule formation. Stimulates migration of melanoma cells, probably via a pertussis toxin-sensitive G protein. May have a role in induction of parturition. Possible involvement in cell proliferation and adipose tissue development. Tumor cell motility-stimulating factor. Belongs to the nucleotide pyrophosphatase/phosphodiesterase family. 3 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.
